Today I had the worst food I’ve ever had from a Snappy Tomato. Two of my six pepperoni rolls were unrolled and burned. My pizza was swimming in oil. I normally use the shop by the Walmart on Orphanage and reheat. Today I made a late decision a decided to order from Independence, I will not be doing that ever again. Was delivered in less than the 45 minutes that was told. The only positive.

The current owners are amazing folk. The location suffered in the past but no more. They make great pizza, their crust is what drives me, they use screens usually so no soggy bottoms here! Nice crispy but not burnt, and toppings are never stingy. Their staff is courteous and kind both in person and delivery.

I have ordered Pizzas from this location throughout my entire residency here in independence. every time I order, they know my name and they treat me like a friend. I called today and the person I spoke with asked me who I was and what was my phone number and address? That’s odd. Turned me off to this location, I will never order here again. I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes to Alexandria, or just go to LaRosa’s.

Came in and tried the pizza buffet. The buffet only consisted of 6 different types of pizza and 3 types of hot Italian food. For $10 it’s a good price, but every piece of food tasted really off. Like the buffet pizza tasted a lot different then what would be normally served outside the buffet. The place was cozy and quiet, but I wouldn’t really recommend the buffet.

We have ordered Snappy quite a few times since they have “re-opened” and we have not been disappointed. The staff is super friendly especially the manager. The quality of the pizza and calzones have been great. If you haven’t tried it since they re-opened you should – try the loaded baked potato and bacon – excellent!

Forget the old reviews looks like this Snappy is now Under New Management! The restaurant has gotten a facelift…new decor looks nice to sit and eat with the whole family. Also, I love it that the buffet is back with best price around the area that I could find. Staff was very pleasant and owner himself was serving the customers. Awesome friendly atmosphere.
Try the beast and chicken wings they are the best!!! (Brownie bites were a great little desert snack at the end). Definitely going back…soon.

Ordered a pizza for delivery and when we got it it was super under cooked. Called to see if they would make us a new one and they said yes but asked us to come pick it up. So we got there (after hours) the person was standing outside waiting for us to get there. We checked the pizza and it was burnt at the top but the crust was still dough yet again. Called the next day after they opened to get a refund and they refuse. They just want to give us store credit. Horrible customer service and they don’t even know how to cook properly. This place is still a joke. New owner, same bs.

In the past two months I have tried several times to eat at this location. One time, the person on duty shared that they only had enough sauce to make one extra large pizza. Upon leaving and walking to my car this employee soon followed and locked the door. Fast forward to tonight and per the hours on the website the location should be open. It’s 9:22P on a Saturday night and the place is dark and no one is there. I like Snappy’s, I like their buffets, their pizza, and general offerings, but I’m not driving to Ft Wright when there are other food options in the area, including an abundance of pizza options.
Update: 6/11/19, 8:06P. Stopped next door to get gas and thought I would give Snappy Tomato Independence another try. Doors locked. Website states open until 10P. I’m done and my guess if they are closed earlier than 10P most days, then others in Independence are done, too, with the place.
Update 2: 7/29/19. This location is only open daily from 4-7PM daily. Folks, you have 3 hours to get your food from this location and by the looks of other reviews, even this is questionable.
Update:8/7/2020, 6:59P. Visited the location and it’s under new management and ownership. Talk about a 180 degree change! Staff couldn’t be any nicer and kind and the food back to the quality I remember. So glad it’s back open and I’m thrilled to give the location the stars it now deserves – 5 stars. Welcome back, Snappy Independence!
