We absolutely love Vela Kitchen. The meals are superb, the atmosphere very relaxed and the service top quality. This is the only restaurant where we truly enjoy every dining experience. Michael and Jose run a class act!

One of our favorite places in pleasantville! Mike is always so warm and welcoming and the staff is so kind. We frequent so much they know our order (including all of our substitutions haha) before we sit down which is so nice. The staff really makes you feel at home here & the food is amazing every time!

My new favorite place. We had to eat fast so the owner (you feel you are in good hands) suggested we be seated at a high top in the bar area. I loves the seating and ambiance, the napkin folds, plating and pretty lamp. We were in and out having eaten delicious beef sliders and chicken sliders. The alcohol free beer I chose was very good. Excellent.

We had an absolutely delicious meal at Vela Kitchen. So delicious that we asked for bread (to dip in our extra sauce). Except….they told us they don’t have bread in the restaurant. That was a first for me! And we brought along a vegetarian and there was not one vegetarian entree on the menu. (Vegetarian appetizers but no entrees). So if these things don’t matter to you I would definitely give this place a try because the food is really good.

Love the staff, the ambience and the quality of food and drinks at Vela. Their cosmopolitan is consistently delicious, they have a selection of good wines. The truffle popcorn, cauliflower fritters, tuna tartare, and branzino are all delicious!

My Daughter took me there Wednesday night for dinner. I wasn’t expecting what I/we got. First Class Service, 5 Star presentation and cuisine (I had roasted chicken breast and my Daughter had Seared Tuna, which was prepared and cooked perfectly). Dinner for 2, (we split carpaccio), two glasses of house wine and no desert) was about $100.

I whole-heartedly recommend tis place, even for the most particular, i.e. “picky” person, like me. The image here is of the Tuna that my Daughter had for entre

This was a pleasant place, with an interesting menu and we were happy to be there. It looked like they had some regular customers and who were very comfortable eating there. But two out of the three of us thought the food was just so so. The truffle mac and cheese was a big disappointment. The sliders and the salads were good. I really didn’t care much for the tuna tartare, although I really like tuna and grilled tuna extremely rare. The tuna was covered in some kind of a sauce but I didn’t much care for.

Part of the problem was the servers. There was a language issue and so the questions we had about them and you weren’t really answered either fully or accurately. For example I tried to find out about the cauliflower cuz I wanted a vegetable but I didn’t want it deep-fried or coated in wheat. The server told me it wasn’t fried and then he didn’t really have the word for it so I suggested sauteed and he nodded his head. But it wasn’t whole pieces of cauliflower at all it was cauliflower patties, like a little hamburger but made of cauliflower and there was no telling what was inside that patty holding it together. Someone who is gluten intolerant or just didn’t want to consume weed was just taking the chances.

Sometimes after leaving a restaurant I get a reaction where I get very stuffed up. It happened shortly after eating the restaurant food. I don’t know specifically what causes it but my guess is some kind of additive that they are using. I had that reaction after eating at this restaurant.

Give it a try and if you’re sensitive to Foods ask the server to bring someone over who can explain the dishes to you.

Been going there a few times now. I absolutely love the place! The staff are so friendly! José especially has made me comfortable! Every time I sit down to look at the menu, I always struggle trying to find something new to eat. José has assisted me on his food recommendations. Their steak that I get is better than any other steakhouse that isn’t $73. Their Truffle Mac and cheese is very strong but delicious. Calamari perfect including the sauce.

After experiencing a lot with the service, I’d give it a 100 out of 10. I would grab every single person I can find to dine there. It’s was truly amazing of an experience for me!
