Best Chinese food I’ve had for a while. The owners are so nice and I can’t wait to go back. I’ve been dreaming about the Shanghai noodles since we ate there. Yum! They also have the “alberta style” egg rolls with crust instead of wrappers.

We stopped at our favourite Chinese food and had the Wor Wonton. Amazing! Delicious loaded with shrimp chicken, pork, veggies and tasty Wontons. This may be our new favourite. Thanks June and Wayne you are as wonderful as the food that you cook at your restaurant.
Wow @coryfraser from the looks of your Google reviews you are a whiner. These are super good people who own this restaurant- June and Wayne. Did it not occur to you to actually deal with them instead of spouting your face off on Google? I’m sure you are perfect from your review, which IMO is bogus! Businesses have it hard enough without your unfounded comments.
Their Ginger Beef is fantastic.
I’ve eaten at some of the best Chinese Food restaurants in the US and Canada, and I will put them in my top 3.

Some of the best Chinese food we have had, definitely the best since moving to the Edmonton area 8 years ago.
We did take out, nothing was soggy after a 15 minute drive. All the breading was crisp, noodles were perfect, spices were just right.
This is our new go-to take-out place.

Four of us was just in and had the dinner for 4 people, deep fried wontons and the wonton soup. The ginger beef was good have no complaints about that or any of the food. The lady was super nice and good to chat with. Everyone left with full belly’s. We will definitely come back again.

I ate at This New Shanghai Restaurant last night Mar 30 -24. It was great I only had takeout egg rolls and chicken fried rice. The egg Rolls were great but prefer the wrapped type. They were filling and Chicken fried rice was of very generous portion and delicious . I will be back to try other Menu items soon .
I have wanted to go there for a long time and glad I did. It was a clean and pleasant place while i waited a very short time to take the food out. The lady was very friendly and kind; asked me if I wanted to dine in .
As far as the reviews that are bad about this place or the food; they are bogus. I figure they are all friends of Lee’s ( as one referenced Lee’s) and are just running down the competition. I will never eat at Lee’s again . Ever heard expression garbage in ; garbage out. You are what you eat !

Ordered the Spicy three kinds of seafood, ( good tasting) but I was disappointed in the dish because the scallops were very few and far between. looks like they took one scallop and sliced it into three thin slices. Portion size is small ,could be better and should not cheap out on scallops. The dish is not cheap! Don’t plan on filling up on this one.
Past owners used to be very generous with all seafood and included excellent deep fried spicy veges with the dish. Also the batter was good tasting but heavy. I would buy more often if the new owners fixed these few things and were more generous like the old owners.
Over all I would say, its good, but needs these changes.

I completely understand prices going up due to economic changes BUT increasing prices AND significantly decreasing portions at the same time isn’t right in my opinion. This used to be my favourite place for Chinese food. So much so I drove from Leduc to Calmar to get it, however after seeing today how much the portion sizes have been decreased alongside the price increase when combined with the decline of the quality of the food also it seems I’m going to have to find someplace new. The chicken in my order today was so tough I could barely bite through it. The chao mein was completely lacking flavour as was the rice and the spring rolls weren’t any different. Definitely not the quality of food I’ve always received in the past and loved so much. Even the plum sauce was super watery today which I’ve never seen before. Completely disappointed in my entire order ☹️
As an added side note I would like to mention that this is the first Chinese food place I’ve ever encountered in my life that does not give fortune cookies with their takeout orders. Just find it kinda odd as I have never experienced that before.

I love coming here, food is always perfect and crispy and such a great staff. We came at 8:30 for a late meal and he was so willing to serve us and even let us take out time to eat and not rush us even after closing time. Good don’t take long to be prepared either and always hot and is willing to change the spice of the food to suit someone’s taste and love the new tastes he brings. My favorite unique dish he serves is a shrimp honey and peach dish! It’s crunchy and sweet and just down right yummy~
