The Copper Pasty is such a delightful place to grab a bite. I am in town several times per month, and on the days that it is open, it’s a guarantee that I *will* be stopping.
My favorites are a toss-up between the traditional miner and the Irish. Crust is rich and well baked. Golden brown every time. Fillings are satisfying and mouth watering.
I cannot recommend this little place enough!

A great place to eat local traditional food and they also had a vegan option! The garden vegan pasty was delicious- full of perfectly seasoned potatoes, rice, zucchini, kale, carrots and onions. All perfectly cooked. The portion is generous, one makes a whole meal, and the price was really fair. To top it off the service is awesome; we were helped by someone who I assume was the owner who was one of the friendliest people I’ve met!

And the winner for the best pasties in all of Lake Superior proudly goes to Copper Pasty! It’s not even a competition, this place BY FAR and I mean BY FAR is the superior pasty spot. We’ve been all over UP Michigan eating them and they are nothing in comparison to this place. They have all kinds of great flavors to try. We got the breakfast pasty and the beef pasty. This is the only place that adds beef cubes from local farmers instead of ground beef like every other one. And it MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE. The owner is super passionate about this restaurant and you can feel the passion when you eat her food. It really tastes like it came out of a home kitchen. I wish the best for her and her awesome husband we met, this is a great restaurant that deserves your business.

We tried a couple of different pasties. Both were delicious (my favorite was miners). Try it with gravy. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The owner was really nice and friendly.

Incredible food & genuine kind hospitality! I would highly recommend to any friend, family or neighbors. I am always slightly skeptical of true 5.0 ratings, but Copper Pasty does not disappoint in the least. Stop in. Support local. Leave satisfied.

This is the place. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable. The pasties are RIDICULOUS. Had two of the Miners and grabbed a third one to go. Don’t think, drive to Ashland now. Why aren’t you in your car yet?

Great place to eat! Hot or frozen Pastys right here in the North woods, if you can get them.
We eat dinner at an odd time due to work schedules so we love to get a FROZEN 6 pack and bake at home whenever the urge calls. Glad to have options like the Irish, keeps the kids happy and allows us to all have the same thing for a meal.
One complaint is that when I come in for a frozen 6 pack or hot 6 pack I shouldn’t end up with a variety of cooked, fresh and frozen because there aren’t enough available. This has happened many times now. Actually almost every time I’ve come in for a 6 pack.
It’s customary to Make sure you have what a customer is asking for before you charge them so they can say no thank you and move on if you don’t have what they want. This happens on a Tuesday, on a Wednesday, on a Saturday. At 11am, at noon at 2pm, at 5pm. So there isn’t one day you can count on actually getting a six-pack of what you want.
Pre-ordering isn’t always an option for customers. But apparently is the only way as of today that we will ever order again. Unfortunately we will also be taking a break from eating here due to frustration with our last pick up. Nothing like making it complicated for someone who’s trying to cook dinner 5 hours after they pick up food. I currently have two hot pasties and 1 frozen. None of which is being eaten till 5 hours from now. Picking up food was supposed to make it easy for me, not more complicated. We would have chosen to go somewhere else had you checked for my order before you charge me.

Wow! My boyfriend and I shared a traditional miners pasty and I was beyond pleased! Ive had probably 5 of 6 different pasty shops and this is one of my tops now. Each ingredient cooked perfectly, no crunchy potatoes, the flavor was delicate, the dough perfectly tender and still golden on the bottom. Will absolutely stop back here on our next trip!

Good afternoon to all of you pasty lovers out there. My husband and I took a drive from Superior, Wisconsin today to drive to Copper Pasties in Ashland, WI to pick up two dozen Pasties to have them for Christmas gifts this year. We usually call ahead and pre-order our Pasties so they are ready for pick up. I was born and raised on Pasties and I have never found one as good as they are here . It’s always worth a drive no matter what time of the year it is to come pick them up.
Victoria, who is the owner of the pasty shop is such a delight always goes out of her way for us.
If you haven’t tried them, you will definitely have to.

The manager waited on us. She was very pleasant, cheerful and helpful. We ordered 1hot Irish and 1 hot Miner pasty to eat in. They were both very tasty and the portions were generous…..more than either of us could eat for lunch. We bought 4 more pasties (frozen) and brought them all home.
We definitely plan to go back.
