I’m resoundingly glad we stopped in because I have a new fave margarita dive because that flight was something special. They had many flavors to choose from as well.

My companions and I are Mexican foodies, and we all give it the The steak was tender, not chewy at all with generous portions. Grilled chicken was well-seasoned too.

The service was friendly and quick with the same ample seating as when it was MiPatio. Actually, nothing on the inside changed. The menu is pretty standard with a couple of twists.

I found this gem in a small town of Ponchatoula, LA off Hwy 55. This is family owned and have been through the hurricanes building back every time better.
I have to give a shoutout to Ellie and chiro for there great customer service and care with my gluten allergy.
Even though this restaurant doesn’t have much of gluten free because the have only one frier for everything they still took care of me. Maybe one day they will get another frier so I can have there chips and salsa or anything fried here.
Now to the experience or energy of this restaurant. From the time I walked up to see all outdoor seating with a running waterfalls I knew this place would be special. I had a nice chat with two long time friends and born locals having a great meal by the waterfalls there favorite spot. The humidity and heat was to much for this north guy so i chose the indoor seating.
I had a great experience laughing abd joking with Ellie who is a hoot! I loved all the decorations of the Day of the Dead everywhere. The also have a great open bar in the far left side of the restaurant. I couldn’t help but take pics of several of the art work.
The whole atmosphere is geared towards family and you can tell. Everyone made you feel like family.
I chose my staple of cheese Enchiladas with rice and beans. The cheese Enchiladas had lots of lettuce toppings , guacamole etc. Not the typical Enchiladas with red sauce. The rice was the typical Mexican flavor rice but I personally like it with potatoes and veggies.
Overall I was pleased with the meal.
Would I come back yes.
Would I recommend? Yes

If you are anywhere near this place; be sure to stop in! We stopped in right at 4pm on a Thursday — and instead of eye rolls and little attention by the staff; they seated us immediately, were patient but thorough in our multiple requests and treated us like we were family. The large margarita is legitimately large (2 of us shared it!), the chili rellenos were perfectly cooked with a gooey cheese center and the beans and rice were very authentic tasting! Don’t skip the queso – it’s amazing as well. 5 stars — would stop here again in a heartbeat!!

Waitress was very sweet! Our dinner came out quickly. I recommend the fajitas. My daughter ordered the tortilla soup w/chicken but it wasn’t to her liking. The sweet waitress brought her out two tacos instead which she enjoyed!

On a road trip from North MS to Texas, we stopped in for a bite to eat. We were greeted by the sweetest staff. The chili Rellenos were amazing and the beans didn’t come from a can. Huge margaritas that were spot on. Don’t miss this hidden gem!!

I was there on a Saturday night from 9 pm til 2 am for the dance and bar night. This is every Saturday Night with a great DJ. The gals behind the bar are the nest. Quick with service and drinks made right. The folks there working and at the place are all nice and some real talkative. If, you like Mexican style music and dance, this is the place to go to in Ponchatoula.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Ponchatoula Hammond area. I am always met with a friendly hostess in the most amazing chips and salsa on every occasion I’ve visited. One of my favorite meals here at like La Catrina Mexican restaurant is the fajitas there cooked just right every time.
