Quite possible one of the best authentic sushi restaurants I’ve been to. Easily the best sushi restaurant in the area. The sushi was extremely tender and it was obvious the sushi chef took time to ensure the quality was perfect. Great job to the team and staff as well as they were extremely friendly.

Incredible authentic Japanese food in the heart of Ojai! We loved the GOMA KAMPACHI, the duck skewers and, by all means, get the corn tempura. Never had anything like it. Delicious! We will be back soon!

We were craving Japanese food and decided to try this place based on Google Maps. We ordered the lunch special bowl with tuna, salmon, crabmeat, and ikura for $18. While the flavors were good, the portion felt unbalanced—there were only two thin slices each of tuna and salmon, but a lot more rice, making it hard to enjoy the fish with the rice. We also tried the char siu ramen for $20. The portion was small, the broth was a light chicken base and not very rich, and the char siu came as just five thin slices. Overall, the taste was enjoyable, but the portions seemed oddly small and not quite satisfying.

Went here with my partner last week while on a day trip from LA. Food was absolutely delicious, staff was incredibly kind, and we truly didn’t dislike a single dish. I will be back!

Unforgettable and unique Japanese food. We love this place. Sometimes the service is a bit snooty and too cool for school, but the relaxed atmosphere makes up for it. Be prepared to sit elbow to elbow with others in a very crammed place… and wait in line for ages since they don’t take reservations

Expect to wait but you can order drinks and delicious skewers in the meantime.
Once we got our table, we ordered toro nigiri, the chef sushi set, onigiri, fried chicken, and the tempura corn. Everything was fresh and delicious. Worth the wait for sure. Great service too.

Really nice outdoor patio. That’s where we are. We got there right when it opened so it was really easy to get a table. There’s not that many places in Ojai that my husband and I actually love, but this is one of them.
I’m vegetarian and my husband is not and we both had tons of options. The menu is pretty unique and there’s some realllllyyyy nice dishes.

Having gone to many Izakaya in my life, I have always been disappointed by the fact that they make you take your shoes off and sit on the floor, eating off a table that is barely waist-high. The food is usually very fried and the oils they use upset my tummy. Also the nomi-hodai drinks are almost always heavily diluted. Full Moon in OJAI, CA is the best Izakaya I have been to that provides TRADITIONAL JAPANESE FARE in an unassuming environment. Prices are reasonable, THEY HAVE UNI, MY FAVORITE, and a decent list of alcoholic beverages. WILL COME BACK AGAIN!

I seen Instagram post of this sushi restaurant in Ojai. I looked at the reviews on Google maps. I work 3 to 7 days a week here in Ojai. I made it after 2 very hard days of working to treat myself to dinner. It was a busy Friday night. There special hand written menu had chicken heart Skewers. This is a home cooked comfort food for me growing up my dad made them. They were delicious and perfectly cooked. I also had Carpaccio Tai Snapper & Salmon, Shiitake skewers, miso soup, ONIGIRI (Rice ball) Spicy cod roe. Everything was fresh and full of delicious favors. I was full and beyond satisfied with the whole experience. I had a friend ask me to get food togo before I left. The service was friendly and didn’t wait to long for anything. Also the music playing was fantastic for the perfect Atmosphere.
I will definitely be going back again. ❤️ %

What a cozy gem! Food, service, & ambiance all 5 stars. Reasonable prices and great quality. We were lucky to get a seat at the bar. Its tiny, so be patient for a seat without a reservation. Better yet, make one.
