Tried Mah-Jong Chinese Kitchen for dinner and it absolutely delivered. We started with the pan-seared dumplings, and they were the perfect opener—beautiful golden crust, still juicy inside, and great with the soy dipping sauce. Exactly what you want from a pan-seared dumpling: crisp on the bottom, tender on top, and packed with flavor.

For the main dishes, the Singapore noodles were a standout. The noodles were wok-fried nicely (not soggy), loaded with shrimp, and had that savory curry-style flavor that keeps you going back for another bite. Super shareable and a great “balance” dish if you’re ordering a couple of spicy items.

Speaking of spicy—don’t sleep on the Red Devil Chef Special. It came out sizzling-looking and bold, with a deep red sauce and peppers/onions, served over crispy rice. It’s one of those dishes that’s messy in the best way and definitely a “signature” type order if you like heat and big flavor.

We also tried a garlic fish dish (fried fish pieces with onions and dried chiles in a garlicky sauce), and it was excellent—crispy, flavorful, and a great option if you want seafood with some punch.

Overall: great variety, strong flavors, and everything came out hot and fresh. If you’re coming for dinner, I’d 100% recommend doing it family-style and ordering a mix like we did (dumplings + noodles + one spicy chef special + a fish dish). We’ll be back.

It took me a long time to try this place because it always seemed a bit mysterious. One couldn’t see inside through the windows and entrance was somewhat hard to spot.

We finally ordered takeout today though and enjoyed all three dishes.

Singapore Rice Noodles and Beef Flat Noodles tasted as they should, with tender beef. We knew the Orange Beef wouldn’t be as crispy as it would be dining in but it was still good for takeout.

Lunch portions were just right, allowing us to sample multiple items.

We’d definitely return for a proper dine-in meal.

Very good food, reasonable prices, and big portions. The service was also great—I felt bad coming in about 45 minutes before closing, but they were still super kind and welcoming. We ordered the garlic fried rice and the Hong Kong noodles, and both were delicious. It’s so nice to finally have a good Chinese spot in McKinney so I don’t have to drive all the way to Plano. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The only dish that tasted fresh was the fried rice. Everything else did not feel very authentic or suited to Asian tastes. I do not recommend the Beijing duck at all. The duck was not very fresh, the portion was small with only a few pieces, and the wraps were also not fresh.

Overall, this restaurant was not for me

Really good Chinese food. They had a great selection. I ate Mongolian beef, orange chicken, lemon chicken, soup dumplings and much more. Service was really good and the portion size is generous.

I will definitely be back.

Our first visit as a family and we loved the experience. Food was served within 5-7 minutes which impressed us. For silverware, they gave us a fork and chop sticks. We didn’t use appetizers and went for the main course – Tofu and Veg Lomein was because of a vegetarian in the group. Sesame Chicken was picked based on reviews here, the Beef Noodles was picked by our daughter. We took an extra bowl of rice and with that, we could easily do family style across 5 of us. We had some Noodles and Tofu left which was packed by the server.

Only downside for us was the server not giving us a recommendation when we wanted to pick between 2 vegetarian options. The answer was, “some people like XYZ”. We eventually went with our gut feel and picked the Tofu. The server also missed one item in our order, which we figured when the order was summarized before it was sent to the kitchen.

Good food and great service results in word of mouth advertising – we promptly shared the experience in our sub division’s WhatsApp group!! Hope to be back and see great consistency in quality of food and service.

Located on Custer in front of the Home Depot in McKinney. If there was an option for half stars this would have been 3.5 stars. I did take out so there might have been an issue with food being packed up. This was my first time here and I was excited to hear about some good Chinese food in the area finally. I went very basic on this first visit to get a feel for how they do with the everyday items. My order was the famous Szechuan chicken dumplings and sweet and sour chicken. I requested fried rice with the sweet and sour chicken when ordered online. I don’t get that just white rice. I liked how they had the items separated for take out so it wouldn’t get soggy. The chicken looked great in the box. It was a bit soft though which might have been from steaming in the to go box. The flavor was very good although the breading because it was soft didn’t hold up great. The dumplings looked like any other dumpling but these were extremely tasty. It came with their special Szechuan sauce that was excellent. The issue was the amount of sauce which was about a tablespoon. The tiny container it came in was 1/4 full. I would have loved more of the sauce. I felt pricing was on the high side with the small portion size I received. This was not off the lunch menu. Overall the smaller portion didn’t feel like a very good deal but everything tasted very good and I would like to try something else from the menu and eat at the restaurant.

I ordered the Merlot Beef and Lemongrass Shrimp, and both dishes were outstanding! The Merlot Beef was incredibly tender, with a rich, flavorful sauce that had just the right balance of sweetness and depth. The Lemongrass Shrimp was fresh and perfectly cooked, with a bright, citrusy flavor from the lemongrass that made it really refreshing. Everything was well-prepared, and the portions were generous. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon—highly recommend!

We are really missing the previous Chinese restaurant establishment before this new place took over. We decided to order take out. The portion is so small compared to the cost. The main course cost around $22-25. The small portion can be overlooked if the food had a delicious taste. It was so salty. Calamari was very hard abs chewy. The spicy chili chicken was lacking the spicy kick. We do not recommend this place if you are wanting take out Chinese food. We should have not to order as soon as we saw the very limited menu options but we thought to give it a try. We will be ordering from different restaurants from now on. It was disappointing.
