Sooo good! The ramen was flavorful and satisfying, and the gyozas were top-tier. Crispy, juicy, and clearly made with care. We also tried the taiyaki dessert with vanilla ice cream, which was a perfect finish to the meal.

Portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and the prices were more than fair for what you get. Service was friendly and efficient. This was out second visit here and we’ll definitely back next time we’re in the area.

This place had some of the best Ramen we’ve had on island so far and the gyoza was also very delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We’ve eaten here twice and both times were great. The atmosphere is very authentic and gives great energy. It is a cozier spot, probably not the best if you have a large group, unless you take it to go. You do have to pay for parking as well. There is a small paid parking lot on the corner, just past the entrance on the right with QR code parking, if none is available in the small parking area in front of the restaurant. We actually walked to it (2 miles) the first time we went and it was worth the walk.

Tanto is hands down my favorite ramen and gyoza shop to eat at. I’ve been a loyal customer from day one my brother introduce me to this restaurant (the first month they open). Its crazy how empty and chill it was back then. Now, its best to make reservations to eat inside. They have space for walk-ins but chances are you will sit outside.

My absolute favorite, and always my go-to, is Mazemen and gyoza. I cannot express how delicious it is…you just need to go there and order it.

Its crazy to see their menu evolving over time. They started with tsukimens, ramens, mazemens, and the wonderfully large number of gyozas you can order. Now its expanded to include musubis, fried gyoza with different flavors/toppings, appetizers (like salads, soybeans, cold tofu, one-bite tonkatsu) and curries!

Service is always friendly, nice, and helpful.

Some tea: The server mentioned their second location will be opening soon. So look out for that…its near Hangang Restaurant and 430 Pkwy Cocktail & Lounge.

Truly a hidden gem near UH, behind Nijiya Market in Puck’s Alley. They have plenty of parking though its run by metropolis, the same parking company that manages Salt Kaakako. Note: rates start at $3.99 for 2 hours of parking. Scan the QR code to register unless you have an account, then it will automatically scan and charge you when you leave.

One of my favorite restaurants on Oahu, truly special in how delicious and authentic everything is. It is also one of the cheaper ramen places to eat at out here which is much appreciated. My only recommendation is another waiter or two, lately I’ve found myself waiting up to half an hour to receive the check, appetizers have been arriving after ramen and your overworked waiters aren’t able to check up on us at all after delivering food. Please resolve this.

We go there kind of often, because they make authentic Ramen and Gyoza
Service used to be good but not anymore
Last time we went there, we were told the wait time is going to be 20min, so we were standing outside and waiting
During the wait time, none of the employees had kept us posted how long more we should wait ,nobody apologized us for the long wait, employees were just chatting and laughing.
There were some seats available in the outside seating area but nobody offered us to have a seat
After a long day at work, we ended up waiting for over 50min, we were just standing there
We almost cancel and go home
There used to be a young white boy who’s from California, who was very attentive and nice
Now they have only Japanese employees and unfortunately none of them is good but less than mediocre

Update****
So after the previous review, we didn’t go to Tanto for a while
And last night(5/4)we came back for the first time in a while
We were talking about the 2 Japanese employees we had for the last couple of times, they didn’t clean the tables but just chatting in Japanese and laughing.. and we were ready to deal with them, but surprisingly gladly, the 2 Japanese employees( older female and male ) were not there, but there were younger male and female
They were not chatting but were just working normally
We both felt like the Ramen soup was a bit salty but overall we are happy with the service!!!
Gyoza was very good!!!

I ordered the 3G Ramen. Garlic 3 different ways…roasted, fried, and garlic powder. This dish had tons of flavor! Wow! The noodles were perfectly cooked and chewy. My wife and son loved their ramen dishes also. Would definitely go back and try their different ramens dishes.

Ordered the tonkotsu red and the 24 pc gyoza. Spicy level is around shin ramen, but the flavor is rich. The gyoza tastes just like how my mom makes them!

My friends and I dined outside, and I feel like the chairs were a bit too short, putting my elbows felt a bit uncomfortable.

First time here and it was amazing! Very delicious ramen and the gyoza is on point.
The broth was excellent, all I gotta say is it was really tasty.

The ambiance was very inviting and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Ample parking at the time we visited, around 7:30pm. Be watchful of the turn to the parking area, it’s a little tiny.

Ate here for lunch and was pleasantly suprised at how good it was. One of the best ramen places we have tried on the island. Staff was friendly and they had a nice combo deal. There is a parking lot and parking garage available so plenty of parking. It was free parking when I went which was during the week in the late afternoon. Only complaint would be the restroom is upstairs and part of an apartment complex and was very dirty. We had to request a key to access it. I am assuming it is a shared facility for several of the business in that plaza. I don’t feel the restroom condition was the fault of the restaurant but it is something to note if you are visiting and unable to navigate stairs etc.
