La Catrina Of Bantam is a traditional Mexican Cuisine with Latin, American and Asian fusions combining by different cooking techniques like French and Asian influences and offering in our bar and extended variety of High End tequilas and mezcales, Mexican draft beers, domestic and imported and IPA beers as well. Special cocktails and fresh sangrias. Our entire decor shows little of our culture and art made by artisans in Mexico and custom made for our concept.

Such a beautiful place. Food is wonderful, creative and balanced cocktails. Keep coming back over and over! Stop on a Sunday for the best server Ashley.

La Catrin is a wonderful and delicious experience! It’s far more interesting and delicious than the run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants one usually comes across.
There are many wonderful dishes on the menu
and you can’t go wrong with any of them. We enjoyed our dinner on Saturday so much that we came back on Sunday and loved the new dishes that we had as well. The flounder that I show here in the picture is a scrumptious dish. The drinks are delicious and the service is wonderful.
We are incredibly happy this wonderful restaurant has opened in our area.

La Catrina of Bantam offers a refreshing take on Mexican cuisine that blends authenticity with elegance. The food is genuinely delicious and full of authentic flavors — every bite feels thoughtfully prepared and true to its roots.
What really sets this place apart is the ambiance. The decor is light, simple, and stylish, giving it an upscale feel without being overdone. I especially loved the chairs — they add a unique charm to the dining experience. The wall art and photography are visually striking and add character to the space. It feels like every detail was intentionally chosen to elevate the overall vibe.
This isn’t your typical Mexican spot — it’s clearly designed to be a more refined experience, and the location and tasteful interior reflect that. Naturally, the pricing matches the look and feel. It’s on the higher end, but you’re paying for quality, atmosphere, and attention to detail.
If you’re looking for a more elevated Mexican dining experience, La Catrina of Bantam is definitely worth visiting.

La Catrina is a very cute, cozy place. I really want to give this place 4 1/2 stars. The food was delicious . Service was very nice as well. The bartender was AMAZING!! She even created a special hit & spicy martini for me. The way she came over to our table and made us feel like family. She had the table smiling. She is Awesome!!

La Catrina in Bantam is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Connecticut. I’ve been here multiple times and it never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is great, the restaurant is clean, and the service is always excellent—every server I’ve had has been friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
Their queso is the best I’ve ever had, and the Cadillac margarita is incredible. I also love their tacos, burritos, and rice bowls—everything is flavorful and thoughtfully prepared.
If you’re looking for amazing Mexican food with great service and a warm vibe, I can’t recommend La Catrina enough!

Cool, Mexican restaurant in Bantam, Ct. Loved the decor and comfortable tables. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat at the bar and were handed a tablet which displayed the menu, but also had pictures which was unique. The food, amazing! We had a shrimp bowl, the chicken which both had great flavors, the plantains were to die for. Definitely recommend stopping in to this hidden gem.

Cozy table next to a real fireplace. Love the table by a warm fire. Excellent food, attentive courteous waiter and manager. Not the usual “mexican” food. Gourmet menu with interesting, fresh entrees. Looking forward to going back.

The food was ready on time, friendly service, and all food was scrumptious and very fresh! Excellent addition to the food offerings in the Litchfied area! La Catrina de Bantam is our new favorite when visiting the area! Bravo!

I’ve come here twice now so it’s time to leave a review. The flavors from this food are a must for your mouth. This Mexican restaurant has a French and Asian twist – they have bao buns . We’ve eaten the half pound burger (Catrina burger), mix fajitas, and the calamari twice. The inside is clean and well decorated with authentic Spanish music. The parking is always easy and restaurant is noticeable from the road. There are plenty of vegetarian options. You get an iPad as a menu which makes it easy to filter through what you might want (appetizers, drinks, brunch, desserts, rice, bowls, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and entrées.

The food is good but a little overpriced for Mexican food. I have had two takeout orders be completely lost either by phone or by online. The management is absolutely awful and you just get the “siempre” bs. There’s no accountability in their faults. No trying to make the situation better. Just a bunch of people who are running a business that has no over arching management.
