OK, so I just finished my second visit because I wanted to make sure their food was consistent good before I proclaim them the best restaurant in Anderson. It is.
Fantastic flavors. Great selection of drinks. They have a different daily menu and a set menu. We’ve gotten items from both each time and were blown away with how good the food is. Get the duck, the scallops, and whatever soup they have. Get the white flower. Mango smash cocktail was great. AND they have a delicious Bordeaux

My only complaint is that they don’t have AC! In the south in the summer?! It was toasty in there!

But the food was spectacular! My table tried the Italian beef stew, the tonkatsu yard bird, the filet, the bison burger, the short ribs, the crème brûlée, the vanilla custard, and the bread pudding. The meats were flavorful and tender, the sides were homemade and fresh and delicious. The bread pudding was dry and I wouldn’t get that again, but the custard with that caramel sauce- amazing. The crème brûlée has the perfect crunch and smoothness.

The service was great. The bar drinks were delicious. We already can’t wait to go back and try other things!

Tonight was our first visit. The food was incredible but I’m not convinced the small portion was worth the high price. They were WAY short on servers and no one directed us when we came in as to where to sit or not sit. Our server was good but she had too many tables so it took a long time for beer and food and service in general.

We have come here many times and have had everything on the menu (including nightly specials) and most of the cocktails. The food is innovative, flavorful and well portioned. The drinks are wonderful as they have gin, tequila and bourbon cocktails as well as a wonderful wine list. Their wine and dinner pairings are excellent as well. Josh and Shane are great hosts and we look forward to dining here every week!

The crab cakes I tried were the best I have ever had, and that includes comparing them with those in restaurants in Charleston , South Carolina. They weren’t excessively bready, the crab was light and flaky, and they smelled like crab cakes should smell. None of that fishy smell you get from other places. The Caesar salad that I had before the meal was crisp and tasty. I also tried the vanilla pudding with the brulee topping to finish. The texture of the pudding was very pleasant, especially with the crunch of the topping. I saw many other plates delivered other tables with food that I definitely would like to try ( I don’tususally care for ribs, but Ithink I’dtry them here). I found the portions to be perfect. I was checked on by staff, and the owner during my meal, but no one was invasive and I was allowed to enjoy peacefully. The atmosphere is open, clean, and relaxing. Don’t hesitate to try tThe Fickle Palate. I plan to go back here soon, and I’m bringing friends.

Tried out The Fickle Palate tonight, and it was everything we thought it would be, plus some. The staff was great and the food was even better.

For dinner, we had the Crab Gateau, Kalbi (braised short ribs), and Roasted Brussels. The crab cakes rival those of coastal restaurants, the short ribs left nothing to be desired, and I willingly ate my Brussels.

For dessert, we had the vanilla cup custard and banana bread pudding. They were the perfect ending.

Can’t say enough good things about this establishment. It was a perfect meal tonight! The 18oz bone-in angus ribeye special hit the spot like nothing else. Beautiful crust, medium rare perfection, fat was expertly rendered…it was a challenge to not start gnawing on the bone!
The blueberry jalapeno margarita was a knockout – well balanced and refreshing. Big shoutout to the bartender for her knowledge and hospitality!
Very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, I can’t wait to come back with friends and family
