First time here. I had tacos, they were ok, but in my opinion, the taste is just not there.
Service was great though. You go up to the register, order and one of the waitresses bring you your food.

they just opened up and so far no good. The chicken tacos are very dry. The chicken nachos Locos is boring. The chips didn’t taste good at all. very stale and bitter. Nothing to it. No sour cream – no guacamole – no salsa. The steak quesadillas are OK but again no sour cream no guacamole no salsa. They need to improve on everything here for anybody to come back. It’s very plain and simple inside the restaurant. which was OK. The service was nice. We will NOT be back!!

The food here is surprisingly great for a new place—this place really feels like a classic Chicago Taqueria. The horchata is strong and flavorful without being too sweet. The burritos are huge, and they had no problem swapping out ingredients when I asked. The guacamole is excellent, and the refried beans are some of the best I’ve ever had. I was pleasantly surprised by the Cheesecake Churro Burrito too—it’s a fun dessert that would be perfect with some dulce de leche or caramel. Its crispy and amazingly made.
My only small complaint is with the Chile Relleno. I love how fresh and well-made it is—no microwaving like some other local spots. But I was a bit let down that it only came with one pepper instead of two, especially since it also included a lot of iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes. I’d rather skip the salad and get a second pepper.
Overall, I’m looking forward to trying more off the menu. If I knew that I could get my Chile Relleno dinner fix here, this might just become my go-to spot!

Nice cashier and good food! I ordered a carnitas and chorizo taco dinner. The rice was fluffy and the meat well seasoned. The Horchata was also very tasty. Be sure to specify if you would like cilantro and onion, they defaulted to lettuce and tomato for me.

So happy to have Steak Burrito in Elmhurst! Best steak taco and quesobirria I’ve had in a while. The chips were warm and the space was very clean. Food came quick and customer service was top notch. Can’t say enough good things about them!

I took one bite of the steak burrito and I couldn’t swallow it. I had to spit it out into a napkin. The meat had a horrible taste to it. It is hard to describe but it was like chewing on a sweaty arm pit. The meat is in fact skirt steak, but I don’t believe it is cooked on a char grill or flat top the way Mexican Carne Asada is intended to be cooked. The meat was wet like it was steamed or boiled. Perhaps this is what gave it such a horrible taste. Also, our order was ready in less than 5 minutes so I don’t believe that it is cooked to order. I believe the meat is kept in a steam table which is what gave it the horrible taste. Completely disappointed. Will not return.

Just tried the steak burrito at Steak Burrito Mexican Grill in Elmhurst — and wow, it did not disappoint! Fresh, flavorful, and absolutely hit the spot. It recenty opened on York St (929 S. York St) near Butterfield Rd, next to the BP Amoco and across from Jewel-Osco. Highly recommend if you’re craving a great burrito!

Check your order before you leave. They made my order wrong… So disappointed!
However, when I called to inform them, the gal that took my order, remembered me and promised me another one for free the next time I go in. Wait and see.
Update: I went back today and received my free order for the mix-up on the last one.
They followed through on their promise and my replacement meal was delicious! They were very courteous and polite and I enjoyed it!
I’ll go back again just because they went above and beyond which is very rare these days … Great service!

So glad I found this place! Moved my business nearby on York Road and was starving after a long day. I rushed over there after googling for “tacos near me”. It was 3 min til closing and I felt bad about walking in as they were cleaning up (but I was SO hungry lol) They took my order with a smile and great service! THAT, to me, goes above & beyond. I’m sure they were a little annoyed but it didn’t show and now they’ve gained a good customer. LOVED the steak tacos, chips & salsa. Often in these places, the steak is chewy but here it was not! I already went back 2 days later and enjoyed.

Cute restaurant…. but unfortunately the cost does not match the quality… I paid 17.00 for a tasteless sloppy grilled steak burrito that barely had any steak in it and it definitely was not grilled. I could of just made my own. Super disappointed. I want my money back!!
