Ville St. Bistro is a casual upscale French restaurant that hits all the right notes. Refined without being stuffy, relaxed yet elevated. From start to finish, the service was top tier—warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable, especially when describing the evening’s off menu specials.

I began with the shrimp Provençale appetizer, which was light, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. Then came the French onion soup—without exaggeration, the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. The broth was rich and velvety, the onions deeply caramelized, and the cheese topping was perfectly melted over a toasted slice of bread. Absolutely incredible.

The French bread, served warm, had a perfect crust and airy interior, ideal for dipping or enjoying on its own.

For the main course, I had the lamb chops with a balsamic reduction sauce, and they were excellent. Tender, juicy, and perfectly balanced with the sweet tang of the reduction. Paired with a glass of Bordeaux wine, it was a flawless combination.

They also featured enticing off menu specials like a refreshing watermelon salad, a buttery lobster roll, a thick juicy pork chop, and flavorful baked oysters.

Ville St. Bistro is a standout in Mt. Pleasant and a must visit for anyone who appreciates top quality French cuisine, excellent wine, and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing friends.

Finally made it this week to this gem of a real French Bistro. If you haven’t check this place out, I highly recommend it especially with the warm cozy Holiday Christmas Tree vibe going on this month. On my first visit I had their fresh baked baguette with Butter (of course). The shrimp provincial with local shrimp blistered tomatoes was amazing. Used the bread to mop up all that sauce. They offered me the last portion of their Osso Buco which had great flavor, not overly salty and full of great whole baby carrots. I’ll be back to taste more of the menu! And you make a great Martini!

What an amazing meal! Philippe and Mark will take great care of you. Everything is made from scratch and made to order. Everything was outstanding from the apps to the entrée to the dessert. Great selection of French wines as well as bourbon!

This was the first place I tried when I was looking for Valentine’s Day reservations and I lucked out getting bar seats. Wife was a bit put off at first when she saw the big screen tv replaying AFC championship and Super Bowl but after we got seated and had the food it was all forgiven. We were adventurous and tried the escargot, was not what I expected in a good way. Our servers were very attentive and made the night very special. It was a longer evening than we anticipated but well worth it!

Amazing meal! We started with a cheese board which was beautiful with great cheeses and accouterments. My husband had the pork chop and I had a lamb sausage dish. You can tell they cook with love and authenticity. Perfect choice for my birthday!

I didn’t expect to see a tv at the bar. I wish the lamb was more tender but great flavor. The potatoes were the best part of my meal.

The food was so mushy and overly salted. It feels so mean writing this review because the staff was really friendly and attentive minus one waiter. I’ve tried food from nearly every restaurant in this area and Downtown but never in my life have I had to stop eating something, even from home made foods. At this price range I was expecting something that made me want to eat more or at least attempt to finish my food. Once again staff was very nice minus one waiter, my waiters and the bar tender were wonderful.

This place is amazing if you are looking for a special meal. The staff is friendly and will gladly offer suggestions or just make small talk. The bread is indescribable, it is that good. The entrées are seasoned, plated, and portioned to perfection. Each dish is obviously cooked to order and made from fresh ingredients. As fans of French cuisine, we have eaten at most French restaurants in the Charleston area and this is at the top of our list.
