Excellent omakase option with unique varieties of fish flown in from Japan. Chef Fuji and his wife were extremely charismatic hosts, and the experience was one of a kind, given the intimate nature of only having 6 seats. Chef Fuji is humble which contrasts with the bold flavors and textures of the fish he presents.

A hidden gem that I am hesitant to let people know. There were only 6 ppl at a time, 2 rounds per night (5:30pm and 7:30pm). $160 pre-tax omakase with 2 appetizers (eel with soba, squid), 12 nigiri, crab chawanmushi and hojicha ice cream. Fuji-san and his wife were very nice, humble and made sure we had a good omakase experience. They are moving soon so won’t take any new reservations after June. Would definitely revisit in the future.

Fujiwara exceeded my expectations 10x over. I’ve had omakase around the world and to have one of the best experiences of omakase in my own hometown of Seattle, I was surprised to say the least. It was the clean and fresh yet so flavorful and unique taste of every single fish from each course that really made this omakase experience truly different from others. Thank you Fujiwara for such an amazing experience!

We have been here multiple times now, both for the Omakase and for the Chirashi bowl options. Let’s start with the rice: delicious, slightly sweet yet tangy, great texture, I could eat that just by itself. The fish is an eclectic selection of favorites and some creative options, especially the Saba and the Zuke tuna are to die for. Add the explanations by Fuji-San, the wonderful appetizers and desserts by Mikako – just perfection all up!
Parking is easy right next to the restaurant and the place is easy to find and well worth the drive!

5/6/2024: Made reservations 2 months in advance to secure a spot for 2 at the 6 seat counter. It was a wonderful experience. A good small selection of sake, fresh seafood and good mix. In house made genmai cha ice cream. Highlights: firefly squid, marinated maguro, and of course toro. Also his seasoned rice is really good!! It looks like brown rice but it’s not. It’s that color because of the vinegar he uses.. Very good.

Such a great experience, Chef Fuji manages to take you on a Japanese culinary adventure.
Great variety, even after going a few times, there is always something new. Highly recommended.

Fujiwara is an exceptional omakase experience. We had the later seating, which meant that the restaurant that Fujiwara is located in (New Zen) was closed, and only the 6 seats for omakase attendees were taken. It made for an intimate and personalized dinner. The chef and owner is quite personable and interactive, not only in describing each course (whether one of the 12 nigiri courses or additional small bites), but also in asking questions of the guests and getting folks to share with each other. His wife contributes in the food preparation and conversation as well. The fish was exquisite, and the attention to quality and detail is top of the line. The dishes are hand made pottery from Japan. The sake options were delicious and reasonably priced. We can’t wait to go back!
