We came here for a couple’s night out and we were blown away!! He got the Mac-Attack and I got the Buffalo Chicken Horseshoe! The owner greeted us and let me try a sample of the cheese, Mac n cheese, and the beef tips!! I am not big into BBQ at all BUUUUT this BBQ is so tender and melts in your mouth!! Whitney was our server and she was so patient and helpful!! Come, date night, family night, lunch…. just come so they stay!!!!!

Let me paint you a picture with words. We decided to do a quick drive by and see what it looked like (judging a book by its cover). We missed it the first time. So after some debate we circled back. As we passed, it look closed, but there was a man behind the counter. Naturally we were apprehensive about stopping in what looks like a closed bbq joint only an hour before there listed close time. So we decided to call and just make sure. And lord am I glad we did. The owner answered the phone, and informed us that his wait staff had gone for the night but we could get take out. We told him that we were traveling for work and was just hungry. He said “come on in I’ll cook something for ya” it really made me feel like I was heading to papas house after a long day of work when he said that. The owner greeted us at the door just like papa used to, and took incredible care of us. He made us feel welcome, he didn’t mind our dirty high viz yellow, or the mud on our pants. He talked with us about his passion for cooking and where he learned to do so. He sat us down and offered a sampling of Mac and cheese he took our order and made a special plate with ends and brisket just for us. He offered extra helpings of chicken, because he is just that way(not unlike a papa). He stuck bread and potatoes, beans and coleslaw in our bag. Offered us a soda to go. I’m telling you this man without a doubt in my mind made we remember incredible nights with my papa. The Burt ends were great and the brisket was delicious. The food alone is reason to come back, but the hospitality, kindness, and love that he showed to weary strangers is what will make me take a 10 hour dive to come back here. Thank you sir you are a seldom found bright light in this world.
