An Indian restaurant in Harrison. No way. But yes, this small corner spot is very good. My first time in, but will not be my last. I stopped in and placed my order to go. Lamb saag and garlic naan. Because it was my first time at this restaurant I played it safe and ordered spice level 3 (1 to 6 is their scale). It was perfect for me a little kick, but not sinus clearing, eye watering heat. When I arrived home the food was still nice and hot. No need to reheat. Their was plenty of lamb in my dish and the flavor was delicious. The Nana was lacking in taste. Not sure if it needed more garlic or a higher quality oil. It wasn’t bad, just not as flavorful as other garlic naan I have had. I highly recommend stopping in and giving this new place a try.

Found this place on accident and glad that I did. Ordered Paneer Pakora which arrived with 3 dips (tamarind, mint sauce, chutney). Crunchy outside, soft inside. The chicken tikka bhartha was spiced nicely, not one spice overpowered the other. The garlic naan was perfectly toasted and bubbled with a light season. There’s plenty leftover for a meal or two. Restaurant has about 6 booths and maybe the same amount of tables. It looks small from outside however it spacious. It’s pleasingly decorated. Employee was a delight to chat with.

I was so excited when an Indian restaurant came to Harrison! I’ve Dined in and carried out and it was amazing. The naan are excellent In the mint chutney is the best I’ve ever had! Both the saag paneer and the vegetable biryani were outstanding. I highly recommend!

Special ChickenTikka Masala and Garlic Naan was delicious and flavorful. Lamb Curry was generously spiced. Portions are large enough for lunch tomorrow.

We got a take out dinner here and it was a LOT of food. I am only giving 4 stars though because it was way too spicy for my taste, I asked the least spicy according to my husband and it was still too much, I have had chicken curry before and was not spicy like that. But overall it was good, and I would probably try again maybe a different dish.

We have been twice now since they opened and both times the food was phenomenal! The food is EXTREMELY fresh and the chicken isn’t overcooked/dry like numerous other Indian restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend the Chicken Makhani and the Saag Paneer with some garlic or Paneer Nan.

We visited Star Indian for the first time today, and it absolutely delivered.
I’ve eaten Indian food at many restaurants across the U.S. and in Pune, India, so I don’t say this lightly—this was excellent.
The space is clean and welcoming, and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. Drinks took a moment, but after that the service was quick and efficient. We were comfortably in and out in about an hour without ever feeling rushed.
We ordered the Curry Chicken (medium hot), Lamb Vindaloo (hot), Vegetable Biryani (medium hot), raita, hot pickle, garlic naan, bhatura, and I had the special tea.
For context: I love real heat and usually order hot without hesitation. The lamb vindaloo was outstanding—hands down the best vindaloo I’ve had. It brought true heat and depth, not just spice for the sake of spice. The hot pickle tasted exactly like what I’ve had in India, which was such a great surprise. My husband, who went with medium hot, really enjoyed the curry chicken, and the raita was the perfect cool-down alongside the spicier dishes.
The flavors were deep, complex, and clearly made the traditional way with whole spices. Don’t be surprised if you get a cardamom pod or a piece of cinnamon bark in your bite—just set it aside and keep digging in.
Portions were generous enough that we brought home leftovers for two additional meals, which is always a bonus.
If you’re looking for authentic, boldly flavored Indian food that doesn’t shy away from spice and is made with care and tradition, this place is a must-visit. We’ll absolutely be back.

The food is good. I’ll start there. The service is lacking. It takes them about 20 minutes to give you water and drinks. Appetizers come out with the main meal, and good luck getting a refill on your drinks. The rice portions are smaller than other Indian restaurants and while they will give you one rice refill free, if you ask for more rice again, you will be charged for it. Most Indian restaurants’ rice portions for a table of four are large enough that we’d never ask for a third plate of rice. However, the rice and the soups are the only portions that seem too small. Everything else is very tasty And proportioned correctly. We’ve been there four times now, so I think this is an accurate review. Service is very slow, additionally, there wasn’t any air conditioning the first few times we went when it was hotter out. The servers don’t look excited to be there and while not exactly unfriendly, they’re not friendly either. Also, they need to put side rails on the ramp up to the door before somebody gets hurt. Will we go again? Yes. Hey, it’s Harrison and there isn’t any competition for them yet.

Amazing Chicken paneer. Absolutely will be making this our go to for carry-out. The inside was super clean and cute upon pickup. Friendly staff! 5 stars all the way. Most tender chicken.
