I could not have been more wrong.
This was by FAR one of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever had. Easily number two on my personal list. I was genuinely floored by how incredible it was. The flavors, the pacing, the creativity, everything was spot on.
If you’re debating between some of the more well known tasting experiences in Orlando, skip them and come here instead. We did the Journey experience and it was more than enough. Perfectly curated and incredibly satisfying.
Highly, highly recommend. This is a standout experience and absolutely worth it.
The atmosphere was stunning, the service staff nearly read my mind, while not being stuffy. And they gave us the sweetest departing piece of artwork on our sweet box when we left. Cannot say enough good things about this stunning restaurant with the perfect touch of whimsy.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday here, and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel recognized, from greeting her by name to surprising us with small touches throughout the night. The evening began in a chic, softly lit lounge with hip-hop in the background, Henriot Champagne in hand, and a procession of beautifully crafted snacks. Highlights included a cloudlike pork steam bun, wagyu tartare croustade with truffle dashi, and an add-on of Japanese barracuda with Kaluga caviar that was buttery and unforgettable.
At the chef’s counter, the atmosphere shifted to serene and almost meditative as we watched the kitchen team work in complete harmony. Courses were plated with precision, each paired with thoughtful wines. Standouts included shrimp with chilled tomato consommé and soba, rich uni with snow crab and corn, truffle-scented Hokkaido rice with Dungeness crab, and our favorite dish of the night: Rohan duck glazed with miso-orange alongside foie-gras-stuffed morel. The pairings, from Kabinett Riesling to Amarone, were spot on.
Desserts were just as memorable: a playful strawberry trio, an indulgent slice of Japanese Crown Melon, and a wooden “Magic Box” of confections to finish. Every detail, from the purse stand to the service style, made this evening feel curated and intimate.
Omo by Jont is not just dinner, it’s a journey. A Michelin-starred treasure and, without question, one of the most extraordinary dining experiences we’ve ever had.
Aside from the Hokkaido scallops, nearly every savory dish was drenched in overly salty sauces, masking the actual flavors. The Wagyu short rib was surprisingly dry on the inside. And the melon—an upcharge—was especially underwhelming. I’ve had Japanese melon more than a dozen times in Japan, and any supermarket version there tastes better. This one lacked sweetness and was cut too close to the rind, so the unripe portion ended up on the plate.
I do have to say service was impeccable and attentive.
PS. Love their open kitchen and all their equipment …
We selected the Jaunt option and the wine pairings. Seven courses of incredible quality – a statement not made lightly having dined in many Michelin Star restaurants. It is hard to pick one of the dishes as the “best” – the starter had 4 different “bites.” The scallop was perfectly cooked. The cod topped with caviar – fantastic flavor. Chicken and foie gras – also over the top. Wagyu – so wonderfully rich. HOWEVER, what made the experience memorable was the wait staff delivering the dishes with ballet timing. A special shout out to Juan Valencia. He noticed that my wife is left handed and ensured that utensils were placed in front her for a left handed person. While a minor aspect, it shows their attention to detail. Be aware that this is not a cheap experience. To date this is the most expensive meal we’ve had – compared to Michelin Star restaurants in Paris, London, and Madrid – BUT worth it.
