Absolutely fabulous meal for two adults and three 8-10 year-old kids. The dining room is really spacious, bright and fun, and the service was friendly and quick. Everything about the food was literally perfect. I mean, how good can a simple shrimp cocktail really be? Well this was the best. Best fries I’ve had in the State (that’s saying something), perfect al dente pasta, excellent fried fish, great cocktails…enough said. Just wish we’d had time / room for dessert. Go try it for yourself

The Victorian Inn is no longer a working Inn but the associated “Inn Pub” attached to the Inn I am pleased to say is very much operational and a true delight. We have eaten there twice with friends and both times everyone was very pleased with their dishes. The menu is eclectic and varied ranging from Asian influence (pot stickers) Swiss influence (Zuricher Geschnetzeltes), seafood (salmon and cod specials), (Italian) spaghetti carbonara and the list goes on. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated and the cocktails among the best we’ve ever had. The pubs owners are lovely and service is excellent (although don’t be in a hurry, the food is lovingly prepared and takes time). The environment is great with tables well separated enabling good conversation. Remarkably, the bill was quite modest given the amount of food and beverages we consumed. If you can get to Wallingford to enjoy this hidden gem, strongly recommend you do.

A Vermont gem. My friend and I got in to town late and were afraid no one would be open, but the Victorian Inn opened its doors and served us fantastic burgers and some of the best wings we’ve had. The ambience was thoughtful and authentic. As we were about to leave the owner invited us for a drink and shared a really interest backstory to the place. We ended up spending another hour with the owner and his family! It felt like we’re were leaving a friends house, not a restaurant. We will be going back!

My wife and I recently had dinner at the Victorian Inn in Wallingford. The food was very tasty and the service was above and beyond.
Although, the next morning my wife became extremely I’ll with a bout of food poisoning and vomited up the entire meal from the previous night and was sick for the entire day.
I called the restaurant the next day they were open, (which was the following Tuesday) to let them know about this, out of concern for other patrons of the restaurant and also because after spending in excess of $120 for the two of us to eat there, this kind of thing should absolutely not happen.
I was treated kindly on the phone by the restaurant manager but was then transferred to a person who I think was the owner or one of the owners.
I was treated very rudely and in an extremely unprofessional way by this person, who treated me with mistrust from the very beginning. Implying that without her having proof, how did she know I was telling the truth.
There was not an ounce of sympathy or any conciliatory response from this person….just 100% mistrust of me.
I was never insulting to her and never raised my voice, I was just trying to state the case that there was a good chance something was “off” in my wife’s food that night which caused her to become violently sick.
The final thing this manager/owner? said to me was “have a nice life” and then hung up on me. Can you believe a restaurant proprietor would say such a thing to a customer?!
This in my opinion is not the way to run a restaurant and therefore I will never return.

Parking on premises, there’s also a nice little yard and a swing that you should check out in the grounds

The decor here is super classic and of high taste, they even have a piano that actually works in the dining room.
Friendly and warm staff, they take the time to explain the food as the menu is not very convenient as it is posted on a way and you may not seat near it. I would tell u to walk in and take a pic of the menu.
SPAGHETTI CARBONARA- great pasta I am glad I ordered it, al dente, creamy and rich in flavor.
asked for more cheese and was told to eat first…. kind of wish I didn’t have to ask for the cheese twice. The sauce and the pasta over all was pretty amazing . I also did not get a spoon to work my fork on, it is a must with spaghetti I feel.
Bread basket non salted butter I appreciate a complementary basket of bread always.
Need to have more napkins available, that is for sure, we had to ask for napkins a couple of times.

My wife and I have been here twice. Their food is out of this world delicious; the staff is equally great. Had their Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich on our first visit, their Beltie Burger on our second. I’d highly recommend both. This pub is in a great location with nice views of the historic village of Wallingford. Great place to stop if in the area.

Truly an outlier in central VT, food was amazing, atmosphere amazing and the staff was super nice. Most VT restaurants run the place with a skeleton crew but I was pleasantly surprised to visit a restaurant that was fully staffed.
