My wife likes to say all the best places are hidden in RV parks, at least in Florida, and she may be on to something. A location right on the water, a warm aura, and a welcoming greeting from our waitress Viola, indicated this would be a place to cherish.

The ambiance is relaxed casual, with sleek decor and modern pop country tunes. The tables are pre-set but nothing comes off pompous or pretentious. The menu and is massive but nothing comes off overly complicated, its familiar and welcoming with just a few hints of adventure.

We got the mullet backbones(50 cents each) for our appetizer. I had never had nor even seen these bad boys but they are darn near the chicken wing of the sea. Perfectly crispy fried with scrumptious succulent meat just neath the breading. We also got the oyster sampler which was an utter delight and in my opinion a top 5 plating here in the Pensacola area. The Rockefeller were actually the best in the Panhandle so far, and were served with a velvety butter sauce which substituted nicely for hollandaise. The garlic parm and jalapeño cheddar were nice compliments to round out the sampler.

The cocktails were off the chart amazing. A full variety encompassing multiple liquors which embraced seasonality while being flavor forward.

Overall this is a destination not a pit stop. Total recommend!

I’ve been to their Milton location previously so I had high expectations. This location’s addition of live music with outdoor seating is a treat! The food quality here is consistent with it’s Milton location. Again, don’t skip the mullet spines, they are an excellent appetizer (try the tail too! That’s the tastiest part, crunchy like a chip). I tried their Grilled Shrimp and and Shrimp n’ Cheese Grits this time. HOO them some good grits. I love their shrimp. Give them a try! (Sorry no pics of grilled shrimp I ate them too fast.)

I had a very upsetting experience at this location. I placed a to-go order at 2:51 PM and canceled it a few minutes later at 2:55 PM. The to-go cashier, Brittany, told me it was perfectly fine to cancel because the food hadn’t been started yet.

An hour later, I called back just to confirm my refund, and suddenly I was told something completely different. Brittany immediately passed me to the manager, Chad, who got on the phone rude, dismissive, and completely unapologetic. He said he had “just gotten there” and that there are no refunds on to-go orders. When I explained what Brittany told me, he basically implied she never said it. Instead of trying to make the situation right, he acted like I was the problem.

When I told him he wasn’t being apologetic, he said, “Well if you want an apology, I apologize,” in the most nonchalant and nasty tone. He then told me the only thing he could do was give me the food they had put in the fridge—food I never picked up because I was told canceling was okay. Also to top it off Chad, the manager, grabbed the food and said atleast it’s still warm.

This was my first time trying this location, and I left feeling completely unwelcome, disrespected, and honestly singled out as a person of color. The difference in treatment between this location and the Brent location is huge. Brent’s staff treats every customer with respect and warmth. This location did the exact opposite.

I will not be returning, and I definitely will not recommend this place to my family, friends, or colleagues. This experience left a very sour taste in my mouth. No customer should be treated this way.

Cute little place. Great location. Good service. But the food not so good. Im born and raised in New Orleans. Spent my latter adult life on the coast in MS. I know fresh seafood. The oysters were ok. But the shrimp and the grouper were not. We sent some of the food back and they did accommodate us with something else. Ive caught many a grouper off this coast, cleaned them and ate them. But this is my first ever eating grouper that had a oily fishy smell and taste.

First time visiting after driving past its location for a few years. It was busy so we waited a bit but were greeted graciously and ushered to the bar for cocktails all around. After a short wait we were seated and the food experience began. To start fresh oysters were great, as were the cheese curds. Dinner was blackened trigger fish and mahi fish tacos. The trigger was flaky and mild, blackened perfectly. The tacos were filled with grilled mahi and a delicious sauce done just right. Plentiful dishes so no dessert this time. We’ll for be back for sure.

Wow our food was so good! It was a busy night and it took a little while for the food to come out but the wait staff is very friendly and hard working. It was definitely worth the wait. I had the shrimp and cheese grits it was so good! The best I’ve ever had. This is a great little local restaurant with good people and great food!

We had a wonderful dinner. The food was excellent and fresh. The blacken shrimp tacos had great flavor and lots of shrimp. The porch looking onto the river was wonderful with live music. Great spot!

$78 dinner for two. Once and done.

My wife and I just got word that our house proposal just got approved and wanted to go out for a good dinner after 6 months waiting for the right property to come along.

Had to wait for tables to be bussed.
Got seated and given menues. No silverware. Ordered drinks. Waitress flicks drinking straws at us like they were lit cigarettes.Ordered appetizers, oysters, and two dinners. Waitress avoided her section for drink refills. Someone else stepped in.
In closing of our subpar meal. Our original waitress returns with the bill. Cash in hand, she drops the bill on the table and walks away just to wait another 10 minutes to retrieve payment and back to the bar to get change. Needless to say she got a minimal tip well short of $20 for her performance of what not to do for the tip pool.

If this is a case of nepotism, stop employing your kids. If you’re hiring other people’s children to represent your establishment, for the love of God….train them. We understand that there is a shallow pool of talent wanting to work the food service industry. Not much has changed since I was a bar back/ dishwasher in 89-90. It’s the management’s responsibility to train staff to keep return customers coming back and not receive bad reviews like the number of 1 Star reviews found here.

If you’re a fellow diner, take heed in what I say. You’re better off eating at the Shrimp Basket up the road on Nine Mile at half the price and get the service, quality service and a legitimate smile and interaction your dining experience deserves.
