What an amazing lunch! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive, quickly bringing us extra napkins and water without any issue. The restaurant is small but comfortable, and the rich aroma of the food hits you as soon as you walk in. The spring rolls were delicious and very filling, but the #22 was the real standout—the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. This single experience made my whole day, and it was absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be back!

I went to this restaurant, probably about a year ago and it was delicious. It’s hard to get Vietnamese food in South County, but this place was pretty good. Then I heard back in the fall of 2024 the place was closing and I was really disappointed. But then recently I heard it reopened under new ownership and let me tell you the food is 10 times better than it ever was. I had some great appetizers and the vermicelli bowls are all delicious. I’ve tried them all. I feel like this new restaurant has better flavor and it’s one of the top-notch Vietnamese restaurants in the St Louis County region Hands-down.

I traveled to St. Louis and very happy to find a Vietnamese or Asian restaurant under name Phoenix Cafe. I ordered Pho and Bun Bo that I crave. Before that I didn’t expect much because of small restaurants. But I really surprised because the flavor is very delicious, rich and right taste that I love. The woman staff who I think she is business owner, is so friendly and nice.

We visited Phoenix Cafe for lunch today. The owner welcomed us with a warm smile. The restaurant was quite small but cozy and adorable. They have a good menu with great variety from Pho, other noodles dishes and rice dishes. I ordered Pho Dac Biet, and my partner got the Com Ga Xoi Mo ( crispy chicken with fried rice). When the owner brought out the Pho bowl, it smelled pretty good. Pho broth was really flavorful, brisket was tender 8/10. I hadn’t eaten Com Ga Xoi Mo at Viet restaurant for a long time. I gotta say they really nailed both the flavor and texture of the chicken 8/10. Both of the owners were very sweet to us. They also gave us sweet potatoes shrimp cake to try. We’ll definitely gonna come back to support when I am lazy to make viet food. Highly recommended.

I just get the pho/soups which is normally pretty good. I don’t like the meat balls as they have huge cartilage in them, so I stick to the rare beef. I love meat balls at Dd MAU, pho here in my opinion is just okay, broth is very light flavor. it is close by/new so I’ve tried it out a few times now. Staff is nice but I will not be going back after my last visit to get pho. After getting my pho in a bowel I realized whatever rare beef they gave me was odd this time and again broth lacking flavor. Beef was a weird texture and it completely dissolved into pieces like ground chicken once cooked in the broth. It didn’t have a beefy taste. Will not be back. UPDATE:
The owner has left a review so I will include my screenshot of my order – I ordered 12/08/24. I don’t have to lie about my opinion -THANK YOU!

The restaurant is under new ownership. I haven’t tried anything else but Com Ga Xoi Mo and it was pretty good. The sauce on the side was really good and they should put a larger portion of that.

I used to love this place when it opened. Delicious food, amazing service. Service was a big part of that rating. Last three times I came the service has been miserable… No enthusiasm , barely speak English, no checkbaback. I love Vietnamese food, but I’m sorry, I don’t speak Vietnamese, and if I have to use a translator to order food or ask about it, it’s not a restaurant I want to go to. They also started using thin, plastic soup spoons for pho, dollar store napkins, and dollar store water cups. This is not a restaurant, this is the Vietnamese version of Jack in the box. Embarrassing.

Ladies and gents we have truly authentic Vietnamese cuisine in South County. Phoenix Cafe definitely impressed us. I have eaten at every Vietnamese restaurant in STL and I can confidently say Phoenix Cafe ranks among the best. We had Pho Tai with a rich flavorful broth and Bun Dac Biet with delicious grilled meat and shrimp.

I took my daughter on Memorial Day weekend. This was some of the best-tasting pho I have ever had! The place is super clean, and the owners are very nice people. I will go here when I get my next pho craving, and you should too!

First time here, and it won’t be the last! We walked in to order carry out. From ordering to receiving our food, it was less than 10 minutes. Don’t miss this new restaurant, and support local!
