What an incredible surprise! Visiting friends in Paonia and discovering a French Boulangerie / pâtisserie? I am French and wahou that was the real deal. Very good (never had a croissant in the States that was this good) real fair prices, most of the pastries are GF, and Clémentine is really nice.

Now I know why there is a line out the door every time I go by this sweets shop. You definitely want to be in queue when the lights are turned on and the French flag is brought out, because surely the magnificent array of pastries inside will not be stocked for long. Only the pressure of the other townsfolk waiting behind me made it possible for me to decide which of the dozen or so options to select. There are no incorrect choices, I am sure of that! Today: a gorgeous blueberry hazelnut tart and a “Tiramachoux.” Each one enough for two (but I never let that stop me) and absolutely scrumptious. Treat yourself!
