I don’t drink, and I was hesitant to go to a bar to eat. But this place was awesome. It was a Thursday evening when we went there and it was very quiet. The food was excellent and that is one place we will be going back to. I had the Philly beef and my fiance had the smothered pork chop. Fell right off the . The next time I go I will be trying their Reuben. We also had a couple of appetizers.

I stopped in to Johnnie’s West with my friend for lunch. We ordered the homemade meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn. The meatloaf was moist and full of flavor. I might add they served two generous slices. I’m hoping for a return visit for their other specials. I Love This Place

We are in KCK for a concert and happened to stumble upon this bar due to Google. The reviews stated a great atmosphere and food. They didn’t it lie! This place is great! We WILL be back! Mary is an amazing bartender and the food is phenomenal!

Just left, got chased out by the bartender for asking people for cash for the jukebox because I had none and would cashapp them. Apparently that’s inappropriate but I digress. Perhaps i missed the sign that said no fellow patrons can give you a dollar for the jukebox. My homegirl felt racially targeted which is unfortunate. I was responsible for bringing her to rhis location and I’m thoroughly embarrassed. Nobody meant any harm as we stay in the neighborhood but I guess being neighborly is prohibited. Will not return ♀️.

It’s hit or miss. I’ve never been there for food, but I don’t trust hole in the wall places to keep up with food safety to begin with, and neither should you.
The handful of times I’ve been has been okay, with prompt service, but it’s not someplace I’ve ever felt “at home” at.
There’s always some clique, and at one time when the true crime thing was popular, I was turned into a spectacle for them. The bartender didn’t even acknowledge that sort of harassment, and I was only there for a quick drink. Then I started getting threatened, and nothing happened either.
I’ve had good times there, and some bartenders will shut down political conversations immediately which is nice, but otherwise, this is your niche local bar with snobby alcoholics that have grown up here, and don’t want to know you unless you’re “one of them” or submit to their bullying. The bartenders are just trying to make money.
I have to commend the bartenders with their heavy hands… just be sure to tip with a heavy hand as well, and you’ll be just fine if you can handle the morons that ruin the mood.

Went here for the first time last week to watch KU play in the sweet 16 with some friends. The atmosphere was great, it was nice to see a bar full of KU fans, but no judgement on who you were cheering for.
The bar had plenty of room for seating with TV’s spread throughout. The bartenders gave great service and the food was great. I had their Philly and some of their Jalapeno Cheese Balls, would recommend both. Other people at my table had their burger, fish and chips, chicken nachos, and their club sandwich, all of which were said to be fantastic.
While none of us ordered them, a regular recommended the wings. Apparently many of the regulars come just to get the wings.
I unfortunately can’t speak to the beer/alcohol or their prices, but considering the amount of people at the bar that consider themselves regulars, it must be reasonably priced!

I got food poisoning here. Don’t order the corn. Pretty sure it sits in the can until it smells like trash soup. That’s how mine came out.
