Just had one of the best meals of my life at Nawals Kebab House and Grill, across from Prien Lake Mall next to Fiery Crab.
Y’all, this place might be the best kept secret of LC. Everything about it was phenomenal, from the ambience, to the incredible service the owner provides, to the food itself. The owner really customized the dining experience for us, making recommendations on what to try and bringing small garnishes and side dishes throughout the meal to complement our food. For example, he brought a garnish for the hummus that he thought we’d enjoy (we absolutely did) and brought rice and bread for my husband to dip his cream sauce in. For dinner had the Nawal Special and the Blackened Fish, which was covered in a rich, creamy sauce/gravy. Guys, it was incredible. My favorite part od rhe whole meal was the Kibbeh. Imagine the crispiest, meatiest, most perfectly fried crab cake you’ve ever had, but instead of crab it’s minced ground beef and flavorful herbs, that’s the best way I can describe it. I could have eaten 10 of them. The meat was so tender and juicy but had the perfect seared edges. The grape leaves were so tender and meaty, and the rice inside was cooked perfectly. I wish I could describe every part of the meal and give it the credit it deserves, but words don’t do it justice, just go and see for yourself!
A big plus for me was the ambient lighting and music that fit the vibe. It made for a very pleasant atmosphere where we wanted to take our time talking and enjoying the meal.
I hope this restaurant succeeds because I can safely say it’s the best Greek and Lebanese spot we have here, in my humble opinion. And I say that knowing that the competition is fierce!

Omgoodness!!! If you have not come here you are truly missing out! This place is a hidden in plain sight gem to be told about! Amazing food! Authentic!! Fresh, hot, amazing! So delicious we will come here every time we come visit Lake Charles from now on!! Come try it out you will not be disappointed! Tell your friends, heck, bring your friends with you!

Probably our favorite place to go eat in all of Lake Charles simply because of the amazing service and experience. Izzy, the owner, is the most authentic, humble and charismatic host and his recommendations are always spot on. The food is amazing and fresh and they even have a full bar which was a plus. The atmosphere is calm and enjoyable and the bathrooms are always clean. We love showing up either to dine or to go just to get a chance to chat with Izzy and hear his thoughts. I rarley write reviews but im doing so in hopes this place stays busy and alive for many years to come. Thank you for giving us hope in the restaurant world again!

Great food!! We went on a Sunday after church and were very pleased with the variety of hummus styles along with a full menu of delicious options. The head chef checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed and more. You could tell the hummus was made fresh, it was smooth and velvety. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try if you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine like we do. We moved from DFW where there are loads of options and this restaurant is a keeper for Lake Charles! It’s a must try, we will definitely be back!!

We went there to try out one of our favorite dishes. Lamb chops. I asked if they were tender and I’m told yes very tender. We ordered appetizers of hummus and grape leaves. They were very good. But when we were ready to place our dinner order we were told they were OUT of lamb chops. We were the only customers there and there was one employee (which he did a great job) acting as bartender, host, waiter and cook! Needless to say we were disappointed, closed our ticket and went elsewhere for dinner.

Tony and I decided to stop and try Nawal’s on the way back to Texas, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was clean and inviting and we were greeted by a wonderful “chef” who was very hospitable. We enjoyed the delicious chicken shish kabobs. Will definitely return to try other entrees that caught our eyes.

I went for the first time to this place yesterday for lunch to try something new and I just have to say it blew my expectations out the water. Yall I had the chicken kebab and it was delicious it was cooked perfectly the veggies were delicious the rice was amazing the service was awesome I will be definitely coming back that food was great.

After coming off from a Sunday afternoon lunch rush of work, I wanted to try something different. This place caught my eye but I never thought about swinging by. About 30$ for water, an appetizer, and a entree, I can tell you I left happy and satisfied! Staff was amazing and easy to chat with. The vibe feels like an a classy restaurant but not something you would need to get overdressed for. Would definitely let my family and friends know to come here if they wanna be full for the rest of the day. Now if you will excuse me, im gonna go take a nap!

Our new favorite in the area! Service was amazing— couldn’t catch our server’s name but he was SO good!— the owner/chef came to our table multiple times to answer our questions and give recommendations, margaritas are strong, food was DELICIOUS, and we couldn’t believe the cheap note. Great atmosphere, super clean; we are fans! Can’t go wrong with the Nawal’s Special, original hummus, and beef kabobs.
