Ok so I was given a great conversation by the waitress on duty and thought the food was going to match BOY WAS I BAMBOOZLED! I got a plate of grease filled dough! The fish was fried frozen and when I squeezed the grease out there was barely any fish inside all that mushy dough. The onion rings were clumped together and some of that blob was over cooked. I peeked the onion out of that mess to see if any was inside. They definitely had a funny taste that I can’t describe. The coleslaw was a pinkish color but I guess that’s what the waitress meant by its spicy. It had a kick but that’s about it. No coleslaw flavor or any flavor at all. Now the strawberry shortcake took the cake, literally! The cake was so old that the color was completely gone out of the strawberries / purée of it. That cake was not fresh at all. I was highly disappointed and wish I had of just got a bag of chips from the TA. I contacted the restaurant just to be told no manager was available to help. I called the next morning for a manager just to be told, “ we really do not have a manager” but my name and number was taken and I never got the call I was supposed to get. Called back like 7 hrs later and was spoken to wit such disrespect and then hung up on that I called my back and explained to them what happened. I recorded my call with them all because I was passed off twice. Drivers risk their lives daily, so any $$ we spend deserves to spent on food and items that’s being paid for or give it back respectfully. I will never eat there again & the health department should investigate that kitchen because why are yall selling old deserts?

Service was great, waitress was great, food average. I wish we had better places in Sweetwater. As for how it was against places in town. I would say it average like the other places here.

Iron skillet says Family Restaurant on the building. There was 1 person to take orders and cook and check out. So the service was very slow but with a smile. The food was stale, biscuits were hard, salsa tasted off and they didn’t have sodas to serve. You had to buy them in the convenience store. I wouldn’t eat here.
Other staff did come in by the time we left but we got there around 8.30 am

The only thing good on my plate was the tater tots, the dish washer/ cleaner stared me down the entire time. Chicken fried steak was still cold in the middle. Payed $22 plus $5 tip. No wonder the place was empty. locals say they wouldn’t eat here.

This is an excellent restaurant. Not only did the food surpass my expectations, the service was even better. My waitress was friendly and on it, never had to ask for refills and always checked to see if I needed anything. The staff in the kitchen was on it as well, and the music was I’ll always stop at Sweetwater based on this experience alone.

This place is definitely one of the worst places I’ve ever eaten at here in Texas. Had the steer burger and egg breakfast. Eggs over medium hamburger patty well done. I got neither correct eggs well done burger patty raw hash browns cold toast hard enough to break the plate if you tried. Coffee was days old the soda was chlorine completely nasty.
My wife had biscuits and gravy biscuits crumbles into crumbs definitely left out an ingredient in the biscuit for it not to hold together. This place needs help for sure starting with management no doubt. I drive truck and I do not recommend this place to eat to anyone on the road.

Great service a very nice young lady pretty and pleasant waited on me also liked the night cook she is a energetic woman and she made me eggs just the way I like them she is 70 years old and she needs your support she’s a good hard-working woman it warms my heart when places like this higher people of all ages. I’m an old guy and I need a job too…

That was the biggest Club Sandwich I’ve ever had and the most generous serving of great fries. Great stop, friendly service, clean and safe place for refueling and recharging!
