Mercato Mio – Italian Market is an Italian inspired restaurant located inside the Hilton Garden Inn State College on East College Avenue. Our focus is to design dishes with an Italian-like simplicity so that the quality of our ingredients and the care with which they are handled defines and distinguishes us.
Come join us and raise a glass of Italian wine or one of our signature cocktails as we celebrate the kind of food Nonna (Grandma) used to make.

The Gnocchi Florentine, Lasagna and Mushroom Risotto were all fabulous!!! The roast carrots with whipped ricotta and pistachios was perfectly sweet and savory. The focaccia had the right amount of garlic. I recommend the tiramisu, as it was a fabulous finish; my sister loved her cannoli too. My margarita was also a nice opener for dinner. Jennifer, the real star, was our waitress, she was friendly, conversed with us and interacted with our children in such a refreshing way! You could tell she enjoys what she does and experiencing life through food! We will be back for sure and recommend Mercato Mio to friends!!

food, service, atmosphere, pricing, everything was great! me and my dad came here, and we ordered the alfredo mac n cheese and the lasagna. it was really good, the mac n cheese was super cheesy, and the lasagna was unique and flavorful! our waitress was phenomenal, and the decor and overall look of the place is comforting but classy. we will be coming back ! 🙂

My family and I made a last minute reservation during Arts Fest week and we are so glad that we did! Charles was our server and he was kind and attentive, giving excellent service. I had the delicious gemelli, which had a garlic white wine sauce and shrimp, my mother had the beautiful mushroom risotto (which was stunning) and my husband had Nonna’s spaghetti and meatballs. We all loved our meals and would order each again (a marker I always use to indicate how much I enjoy a meal). My mother ordered the tiramisu for dessert, which l’m usually indifferent about but it was delicious.
I’m excited to have this Italian gem as part of our State College community!

This restaurant is really a home cooked Italian meal restaurant with fine dining prices. The prices, and the need to purchase dinner salads and sides separately, suggest that you are eating at a fine dining location. But the food itself is more like very delicious home cooking. Just not sure that what you get is worth the price. On the plus side they have numerous gluten free options, and the atmosphere was friendly but not homey. And the food was tasty. The service was slow, even though it wasn’t crowded, and when the waitress did come by, she would leave empty handed with dirty dishes left on our table. Our table was small so it began to feel crowded.

My son and I had breakfast this morning, Monday, December 26, 2022 at 8:50. I ordered an omelette with wheat toast and hashbrowns. You can see a picture below. The toast was black beyond burnt as were the home , inedible. I asked for toast that was not burnt And I eventually got it. The omelette was small and dense, very unappealing and not very tasty. I only ate a little bit of it. My son has biscuits and gravy . He was also not fond of his meal. He said the biscuits tasted like red lobster biscuits. There was a small amount of gravy on it so he asked if he could have a little more. Waitress just went back and checked and came back and said they had no more. Now it is 9 o’clock in the morning and people are still coming in and there’s only four things on the menu, so it’s hard for me to believe that they are out of gravy. We will continue go to come back to the Hilton Garden Inn, we probably will not eat it at the restaurant again. I mentioned it to the waitress that it was not very edible and she seem disinterested in my opinion. I did mention it to the person at the desk when I was checking out and she asked me if I would like to have something else to go but we did not have the time. As this is the first time eating breakfast there, I cannot recommend it to anybody. It’s probably the worst breakfast I have ever had And the cost is $30 for the two of us. and I think they should also ask us if we’re help me members a.m. I did not feel that they cared about me whatsoever. So disappointing

This seems to be a hidden gem among dining establishments in State College. I would say it is the closest you can get to home-cooked Italian food of any local restaurants. They have a great selection, it’s all delicious and the service is fantastic. The prices are resonable and portions are generous. Also fun are the “mocktails” for the younger guests to enjoy and feel like a grownup. It’s hard to believe that this is tucked away inside a hotel.

Elegant place, delicious food, and excellent service provided by smiling servers.
I enjoyed a very tasty breakfast here.
One can always tell if kitchen staff put their heart into their tasks. It is very clear here, they put their heart into their work.
Must try: Nonna’s fried potatoes.
I will visit again.

Good Italian food in a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed the Mushroom Risotto and the onion soup.
Diverse enough menu but not overwhelming. This property is at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Went here on a Friday night, got the lasagna and the gnocchi Florentine. The lasagna seemed old and reheated, the ricotta was congealed, and there was no red sauce. The gnocchi was slightly better but the chicken was bone dry and the cheese crisp was stale. Most of the staff were nice and accommodating, but our waitress failed to introduce herself, offered us a box while we were actively eating, and was not friendly. The decor was cute but the ambiance is diminished by the fact that the restaurant is in a hotel lobby. Overall, not worth the price.

This restaurant is way more than what I expected for a hotel restaurant. The service was good and the food was even better. I had the nonnas meatballs and the steak. Both of which were very good. The cooks Mike and Nash did an excellent job. I will be back again.
