Tucked away in a low-rise complex in Richmond, Yummy BBQ is a hidden gem for those craving authentic Hong Kong–style BBQ. Every item we ordered was well prepared and true to the HK flavors you’d expect — nothing overly salty or greasy, just balanced and satisfying. We tried half a BBQ duck and the three-meat combo with rice, and both were excellent. The staff were friendly and courteous, and I especially appreciated how generous they were with sauces — a small detail that goes a long way.
If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the food temperature. Nothing came out piping hot, which left me wondering if the dishes had been sitting out for a bit — or perhaps the restaurant just doesn’t see as much volume during off-peak hours. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but hotter plates would elevate the experience.

I heard about this Cantonese BBQ joint for a while but haven’t got a chance to try it. This evening, eventually, I could give it a try! I didn’t pick the cheapest choice on the menu and instead I ordered the roast duck leg as my dinner.
The place is not very large, I guess they target to serve more take out orders. The staff members are welcoming. The vibe is very similar to those in HK.
The roasted duck leg is very delicious and juicy. Though it’s already close to the end of the business hours but it was still tasty with the plum sauce. Portion is large.
Definitely I will try their BbQ pork and chicken in my next visit! I’m really satisfied!

2025.10.09 Avoid coming after 1800, their quality becomes overcooked being kept hot for too long, becoming overcooked, dry, the roast duck and glazed BBQ pork both overcooked, dry.

2025.07.31 Yummy BBQ Restaurant can get pretty busy and has regular customers. They have a loyalty program, buy ten meals, get the 11th free. There’s a meal of the week for ten dollars promotion. The chicken is nicely seasoned with a few bits of broccoli for color along with rice. This is certainly much tastier than a Fat burger down the street. Definitely recommended.

After seeing all the reviews I decided to give them a try. Their BBQ meats are topped notch and tasted great, but they are overpriced. There are other BBQ places in Richmond that is just as good and not as expensive.
If I was in the area shopping and have a craving, I will most likely go back, but it’s not a restaurant that I would go out of my way to visit

Our grandsons enjoy the bbq pork at Yummy’s. I also did quality control with the bbq pork on rice. Good flavour and texture. Price is comparable with some other bbq meat shops and some or more expensive. However come try for yourselves.

Staff were super friendly. They even brought the tea and food to our table. We had the $12.95 Roast Pork & Soy Chicken on rice and the Bbq Pork and Bbq Duck on rice.
I didn’t find anything over special or tasty. There was no WOW factor with the bbq meat. There are must better bbq pork, roasted pork and soy chicken in Richmond.
Tried it to see what the excitement was about and probably won’t be going back.

I came in for two two-item combos: one with BBQ pork and soy chicken, and the other with BBQ pork and roasted pork. Reviews—and a few Instagram influencers—raved about their BBQ pork, so I had high expectations.
Unfortunately, I didn’t end up liking much of what I ordered. The BBQ pork was tough and overly sweet for my taste. The soy chicken was also on the sweet side and lacked the smooth texture I was hoping for. The roasted pork was okay, but the skin didn’t have that satisfying crunch.
The price is also pretty up there compared to other similar spots, which makes the experience harder to justify.
With so many great options in Richmond, I’m not sure I’d return. Maybe I’d give it another try in the future if things improve.
