Upon entering and being seated, you are surrounded by some eclectic, but tied-together decor. I really liked the large, live-edge group seating table down the on side of the dining room. I also thought the chandeliers were a nice touch.
Coffee here is self-serve and you get to choose a mug from about 50 that are on the wall of all different styles and decoration.
Our breakfast was the Farmers breakfast ( eggs perfectly over easy, great marbled rye toast, perfectly cooked bacon, and breakfast potatoes that were crispy outside and light/fluffy inside). The wife had the maple pancake sandwich which she really enjoyed.
Relaxed atmosphere, spot-on table service, and just a comfortable feel, we left full, content, and ready for the day.
We had to advocate to avoid being overcharged for a bottle of prosecco (bottle service with two juices is $40; bottle itself is $34). No handouts for spending a birthday with them. Good service but it’s not overly welcoming. I don’t mind on waiting on food, but the temperature of the food didn’t match the wait. The signage that says something along the lines of “this isn’t fast food so it will take some time” could be funny or cute, but it’s not worded that way. I’m not disappointed, but it was just good. The grilled cheese was crunchy, buttery and fab bread. The greens side had good dressing, but some of the lettuce was on its way out and soggy. The dessert was different and fun to try – we ate about half of it.
40+ minutes from seating to food entrees served, slightly more than half seating capacity upon arrival. Maybe 2/3 capacity but fairly sparse quickly post peak.
Food was good we had lunch not breakfast. See pics. Smash burger bun soft and fresh, gooey cheese. Croissant chicken very light on mayo, shredded fine chopped chicken. Carrot cake cold yet fluffy enough.
But not sure why dessert was served with a coffee cup saucer, first time ever after xx years work travel and many restaurants. A message thing? Read on.
Server not pleasant at onset obvious negative eye glance away as if irritated. I had to put forth extra effort to engage and encourage any comfortable rapport. About 3/4 way through visit, more conversational but not nearly as chatty as with other tables. Hmmm.
Did check on us frequently but text messaging might have been more pleasant. By end of visit (gratuity time) more perky attitude how timely. Odd table out.
Coffee bar is self service, pick your mug, pump dispenser. No fanfare here, nor emphasis differentiation on coffee blends significantly obvious. Anticlimactic.
