The food & drinks were delicious! I got their brown sugar shaken espresso & chilaquiles, their portions are a great size & everything was yummy. Service was great & wait time wasn’t long.

This is the next best spot in Downey! Not only is the atmosphere soooo pretty but the food is amazing. I am in love with the brown sugar shaken espresso and their espresso martini’s. So far I’ve been here a few times and have tried the Carne en su Hugo, breakfast burrito, enchiladas enmoladas, and the Nutella pancakes. I loved it all. The owner is so nice and welcoming. Oh and ask them to put a picture on your martini or coffee! They can do that!

I normally don’t post but I felt like I really needed to. First, my wife called ahead of time to see if we needed reservations and she was told that the wait was 15 minutes and reservations were not needed. When we arrived, 5 minutes later we were told the wait was 30 minutes. No big deal. I get it. Business happens. So we put our names on a list and as we waited we noticed that folks who were coming in behind us were being seated before us. When we asked why, we were told because THEY HAD RESERVATIONS! Fine whatever. We were hungry and didn’t want to start searching for another spot. When we were finally seated we order our drinks and food, and all items did not come out at the same time. There were 4 of us and it took approximately half hour to finally receive all of our food items at different times. I will say this, the server Jaden, was very friendly and apologized for the inconveniences.
Now for the food. We should have paid more attention as we walked in. As we walked in we noticed a lot of plates were left with plenty of food on them. The machaca was underseasoned as well as the steak in the t triple power omelet. The guava cheese cake pancakes were undercooked in the middle. The guava and cheesecake spread was good though. I did like the eggs, but at the end of the day, they’re just eggs. The potatoes were well seasoned, but it was a hit or miss whether they were fully cooked as some of them were undercooked.
The environment is very nice. We sat in the patio and there was plenty of shade and covering given the space. All in all, I really wanted to like this place. The pictures looked promising. We had high hope but unfortunately we left disappointed.

This past Friday, decided to try Casa Brunch for a late breakfast. We were seated promptly, our server was very friendly and welcoming. To drink, we ordered the Spanish latte and hubby ordered a hot mocha with oat milk. We both ordered the machaca plate. The food arrived very fast and it was not hot enough in my opinion. The plate comes with machaca & eggs, and home style potatoes and a side plate of pinto beans. The beans tasted like they’re from the can and not made in house. We had to wait for the tortillas, and I assumed they were made in house, but nope, they’re prepackaged tortillas. We finished our food, and I don’t know what was going on with the barista that day, but it took forever to receive our hot drinks. We finished our food and still hadn’t received our drinks, so I asked the waitress to make them to go. Probably will not be returning back, didn’t enjoy the food or the drinks.

If you’re a fan of carne en su jugo, this place absolutely nails it. The broth is rich, savory, and packed with flavor — you can tell it’s been simmered the right way. The carne is tender and juicy, and the balance of beans, bacon, and fresh toppings like cilantro and onion takes it to another level. Every bite tastes authentic and comforting, like the kind of dish you’d get at a family gathering in Jalisco.
What I really appreciated was how well everything was seasoned without being overly salty. The lime, salsa, and warm tortillas on the side make it even better because you can customize every bite. It’s the kind of meal that hits the spot whether you’re craving something hearty or just want real Mexican comfort food.
Service was friendly and the portions were solid too. If you’re looking for legit carne en su jugo, this spot is definitely worth checking out. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I was very disappointed by this place. The wait was very long which for a Sunday morning can be. The food came out at different times, and it wasn’t good, it lacked seasoning. The pancakes were undercooked, the steak omelet and machaca had no seasoning. The best part were my two pieces of bacon. I hate to leave bad reviews but im hoping it will help the restaurant with improvement.
