What a great meal top to bottom! Bayou Roux is NOT what you would expect to find at a gas station outside Monroe. Everything is clean and upscale. Yes, it’s a rustic look, but they manage to make barn doors fancy. The staff was wonderful. They seem to really enjoy working there and genuinely want to help you “pass a good time” as they say in South LA. The appetizer was great. The tomatoes were cooked perfectly and the slaw somehow pulled everything together nicely. The ahi was seasoned nicely, cooked perfectly and there was plenty of it! Cucuzza is not something you see on a menu often, but when you are 30 minutes away from the largest farm in the US, you take advantage of nice fresh seasonal veggies! That cheese cake may be the best I have ever eaten. It was SO creamy and smooth. The crust was even delicious and not soggy. I can’t wait to try brunch next weekend!

We had a large group and ended up having a great experience. Multiple people ordered drinks which were all prepared well. The bartender was attentive and answered any questions we had while making suggestions. Our appetizers came out quickly and all tasted good. And the entrees were also well flavored.

This is one hidden gem worth checking out!! Things are constantly improving and getting better and better! When I walked in for the 1st time, I never would’ve imagined discovering this really nice restaurant that has this amazingly beautiful interior design. The food is phenomenal and the staff really cares about giving you the best dining experience possible.

We stopped by on our way through Louisiana just for gumbo. When I called to see if they had any since they only do a Sunday brunch they said they would which was outstanding. Then when we got there, they placed the order for us and started making it, saying it would be 10 minutes. After stepping outside to wait, when we came back in, 3 different girls came up to us with snooty attitudes informing us they don’t do gumbo on Sundays. I’m just glad the gumbo was worth it, tasted great, goid enough I’d go back just for it. The girls just need to learn,a little more hospitality. If eating there, the atmosphere is very cozy.

Maybe it was an off night, the four of us had 4 different dishes and it was not all good. The service was very slow and there were only a few tables in restaurant. I would not order the Catfish Roux was not good at all and the catfish was so small and thin. The shrimp and grits were very delicious, but the prices do not reflect the serving sizes or quality.

Update: while the food was good and the service was great, we both got very sick. We called back the next night to let them know, the girl was not very friendly at the news. We didnt ask for anything, just simply to let them know.

Absolutely the best Catfish and Redfish we’ve had. The etoufee was amazing. Great service too!

The food was very greasy. They were out of the mac and cheese, one of the easiest dishes to make. The seafood gumbo had absolutely no seafood in it! The only thing that was good was the pulled pork, but the nachos they were on were way too greasy. I probably won’t go back.

Ordered blackened grouper, but the grouper was not blackened. Very bland. Chef must not know Louisiana cuisine. We ate it because we were starving. Waited a long time for drinks then even longer for the meal.
