I’m so surprised this was our first time hearing about it. So glad me and my partner got the late night munchies all of a sudden and that the other place we were gonna go to was closed. The owner was super nice and was super helpful helping us what to choose. The food smelled so good in my car and we were really looking forward to eating. We got the cheese butter masala rice bowl, Chana masala khati wrap and the Dubai chocolate cheesecake. Everything was super flavorful and we’re definitely gonna come back!! Thank you, Spice Box for the super yummy food!

Updated Review(October 2025): I’m bringing my review down to 2/5 because during my past few visits(during the time they show as open on Google Maps), they haven’t been functioning. At least have the courtesy to mark the location as closed when you aren’t working so that people don’t drive all the way to find your food truck not working.
Earlier Review: The Indian food scene in Charlotte continues to get more promising.
I stumbled upon The Spice Box food truck and was genuinely impressed! The bright green truck is easy to spot(in a gas station), beautifully decorated with vibrant garlands, and gives off a warm and festive vibe. The menu is extensive, offering everything from nostalgic chai combos to fusion rice bowls and Indo-Chinese delights.
I tried the Chicken Kathi Roll and it was excellent — warm, flaky paratha filled with juicy, well-marinated chicken, crisp onions, and flavorful sauces. Every bite was a hit of bold Indian street food flavor.
Also ordered the Chicken Manchurian, which was incredibly tasty — crispy fried chicken chunks tossed in a tangy, spicy sauce with hints of soy and garlic. It was delicious but did lean on the oily side, so just something to keep in mind depending on your preference.
They offer delivery via DoorDash and Uber Eats, but it’s worth visiting in person for the full experience. Staff was friendly, service was quick, and they clearly take pride in what they serve.
Definitely a must-visit if you’re craving Indian fusion street food in Charlotte. I’ll be back to try their chaats, fries and dumplings next time!

Absolutely loved this! Hands down one of the best spots in Charlotte. The fried rice and fresh fries were amazing — OMG! I honestly want to try everything on the menu, but I’ll pace myself and go slowly. As a South Indian, I have to say I really enjoyed this place. Thank you!

I had the pleasure of dining at The Spice in Charlotte, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern and cozy, making it ideal for both casual lunches and special dinners.
The food is truly exceptional. Every dish I tried was packed with rich, authentic flavors and clearly prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their spices live up to the name — bold yet balanced, enhancing every bite without overwhelming the palate. Whether you’re ordering their signature curries, grilled items, or traditional rice dishes, you can expect consistent excellence.
Service was equally impressive. Staff were professional, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to provide recommendations based on our preferences, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, The Spice stands out as one of the best dining spots in Charlotte for anyone seeking flavorful, authentic cuisine with top-notch service. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be returning soon.

I love the food here. I keep going back. Follow the Whatsapp group for the updates. My favorite dish is the Schezwan Fried Rice. I will say though just like any food truck, it’s a hit or miss on some days. They have a vast menu and sometimes things are out of stock. I will say the fries could be better, everytime i’ve had them they’re not crispy enough.
The Kathi Rolls are
Spice levels are Mild, medium, Spicy, and Indian Spicy. Indian Spicy isn’t as spicy as you think, but it’s perfect in my opinion.
Growing up American Indian, the food matches my North Indian roots with a touch of flavor and American taste buds.
They serve Dosa and all as well, it’s like home cooking. If you’re looking for restaurant sit down food it’s not going to be that way. It’s street eats very Mumbai style but delicious flavor.
It’s a great spot for Veg and NonVeg. The convenience of the food is key and the hours.

The Spice Box Food Truck is a green food truck we found at the shell gas station just before you get to Plato’s Closet on University City Blvd. This food is GOOOODDDD! We got the Veggie Bowls, the Mamas Samosas, and the sweet chili ginger garlic veg balls. It was very VIBRANT & TASTY!

You can always count on a food truck being open 8 to 12 pm in the University area when other restaurants are closed. I stumbled upon The Spice Box on the way home and hit the jackpot. Located in the Shell Station lot on University Blvd Spice Box offers amazing authentic Indian and street food at a great price. They offer fusions as well. I opted for the butter chicken rice bowl and a side of paratha. The bowl had robust Indian flavors. They offer veggie options and can accommodate food restrictions. The service was outstanding…Yogan and his team were polite and professional offering prompt outstanding service. I’d eat here again.

Absolutely amazing Indian food! This food truck is a hidden gem at comparatively low price. Every dish bursts with authentic flavors — the spices are spot on, and the portions are generous. I tried the Dosa and Indo-Chinese Noodles — both were fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The staff is super friendly and always happy to explain the menu if you’re unsure what to order. You can tell they really care about the quality of their food. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving real Indian street food. Will definitely be back!
