The waitress that was working the during the evening was very nice and helpful assisting with my order. I ended up getting 4 asada tacos with a side of rice and the food was delicious. The wait was not long at all and the overall experience was great. Definitely plan on coming back soon whenever I’m in the area.

So glad we got this place in Geneseo! I give Habaneros 5 star for a few reasons.
1. They have the best steak tacos I’ve ever had. I think it’s the seasoning. I get steak tacos often at different Mexican joints and this is hands down the very best.
2. The atmosphere is a vibe! They always got the games on multiple tvs. It’s bright. This is my favorite place to go watch nfl games while grabbing dinner.
3. They have so much room and always plenty of wait staff. We never wait more than 15 minutes to get our food.
4. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive.

This was our first visit to the new Geneseo location since they opened. They made a HUGE facelift and expansion inside. Tons of seating. Place was uber clean, nicely decorated. The staff was all awesome. Greeted us right away, waiter was on top of it. He did a great job. Menu is nice. Tons of choices. I picked the QuesaBurria with Beans & Rice. My wife had the SR Burrito. My father in law had the steak and Chorizo Torta with beans & Rice and my brother in law had 3 hard shell beef tacos. We all really enjoyed the food. Everything was flavorful and the portions were very nice. We really enjoyed it, and will definitely be back!!!

My wife and I stopped at Habaneros in Geneseo for a mid afternoon dinner and loved it. Their menu was diverse and the food was absolutely wonderful. Traditional to Americanized dishes. While I went with a “mole” dish, my wife ordered the chicken casadia with “polo” soup. Fantastic. My only concern is they had minimal staff available and some time was consumed both before and after our meal. That being said, our waitress was wonderfully supportive and we took care of her!
Every Mexican dish is a product of diversity. The seasoning was perfect and we’ll make it a point to return. Thanks to the owners and staff.

I can’t put zero stars but that’s what our experience deserves. We tried to give it the benefit of doubt but after 3 bad experiences, we will not go to this restaurant again. Our most recent was the worst time of the 3. Everyone at the table ran out of drinks before getting a refill after flagging the waiter down. We were told they were out of chips and salsa when asked about a refill. Our food took over an hour to prepare and it took an additional 10 minutes for the last entree to come out after the rest of the table had their food. I do not recommend spending your time or money here.

I’ve been here 3 times since they’ve opened. I wanted to give them a fair chance before reviewing them. Also, let me say…a business who only chooses to acknowledge the good reviews? Not a good look and not a good look for a business in Geneseo.
Pros? The atmosphere is really cool, the bar is awesome. The Fideo soup is really really good. Very authentic.
Let my preface by saying, my Dad and his entire family is from the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. So I grew up with homemade Hispanic food.
The first time I went to Habaneros, I complained about the rice and beans being very bland. The rice was the worst, it was like buttered white rice. The server told me they serve authentic Mexican cuisine. And I told him your beans have no flavor and neither does the rice. The second time I went I had a sope and Fideo soup. The soup was awesome but the sope had no flavor. Then just this week I went again. Had Fideo soup and a cheese enchilada. The enchilada was basically a brick of cheese, it was so gross. My mom complained about her tortilla soup because it was super salty and the server ignored her. The food lacks flavor here and in Mexican culture, flavor is everything.
Also, the restaurant needs to work on their timing. Last time I was there everyone’s food came out separately. My husband was halfway through his meal before my soup came out. Makes a great dining experience.
Hope things get better here because right now, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. I’d direct them down the road to Los Ranchitos.

Excellent food and service. If you are looking for great Mexican food in the area, look no further. They have plenty of seating. Superb choices on their menu. Everything was delicious.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and our server was great. Unfortunately the rice & beans had a burnt potato flavor. According to the menu description the chimichangas were supposed to be crisp, but was it came to the table soggy.

We walked in the Geneseo restaurant at approximately 145pm at noon today. Almost every table was full. 1 young man! 1 did EVERYTHING! He seated, waited, maintained service, clean up AND check out ALL on his own! I called the restaurant tonight to let the manager know. He was out. I asked that my message be passed along. That young man working was UNBELIEVABLE AND SUPER!
