I was finding some Vietnamese foods for my family a perfect sunny weekend. This restaurant did satisfy us by their products.
Five spices grilled chicken and steamed rice: absolutely Vietnamese tastes of the grill chicken, also a fair price for 2 pieces.
Savoury sticky rice: nothing to complain, each kind of topping gives a different and interesting taste along with the soft sticky rice. It made me remember to my usual breakfast in Vietnam.
Char siu with egg noodles: an amazing oyster sauce with fried chopped garlic was the main soul of the dish. Though the char siu pork was also great.
Highly recommend for anyone wants to try Vietnamese cuisine.

i recently ordered food from this restaurant and i loved it! i ordered banh mi and bun thit nuong (grilled pork vermicelli noodles i think). the food tasted fresh, delicious, and i would definitely recommend this place for authentic vietnamese food. this is the best i’ve found in york so far!! very happy!!

Our family was travelling and happened to pass by the restaurant since it’s very close to the Park & Ride in York. We decided to give it a try, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes, everything tasted fresh and authentic.
The owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit (for take-away). Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

Madam Ly is a rare hidden gem in York for truly authentic Vietnamese food. We tried the bánh mì, Saigon-style broken rice, vermicelli bowl with BBQ pork and hollow sesame balls for dessert. Everything was superb, fresh, flavourful and genuinely authentic.
Even as a takeaway, the food arrived beautifully presented and the bánh mì stayed impressively crispy after a 30-minute journey.
