1. Royal Lobster’s lobster roll is $1 more but gives you way more lobster. If you see the pic I posted you can see the lobster sitting on the crack of the bun.
2. They add a service fee without telling you what it’s for. “Taxes and fees” it says. I didn’t take a receipt so I’m not sure but I saw it on the screen. Yes, I should have asked.
3. They charge a ridiculous amount for water. See the pic attached. I asked for two cups of water and said out loud to the cashier, “Wow, those are the nicest free water cups I’ve ever seen!” No comment by him. Then I saw it added to the bill. Yes, I should have said something.
4. Look at the pic of the water machine. $1 for their cup and $2 for filling your bottle?! So it’s not about sustainability?
Feels like a shady business taking advantage of tourists (and this local). For that reason I will also skip Feast, the owner’s other restaurant in Manoa. I’d rather spend myoney on overpriced food and an overpriced experience elsewhere.
Objectively, Hawaiian Style Seafood’s lobster roll is good but, needless to say, I’m never coming back.
You shouldn’t come here at all. Try Royal Lobster! They give bigger lobster rolls, chips, and coleslaw, and the counter ladies were friendly.
