A fantastically quaint coffee shop in Rico, Colorado. The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy. Seating is plentiful but inside and on the patio. The staff is pretty awesome and very friendly.
Aside from the great coffee the menu includes additional hot and cold drinks, food, and pastries. The store contains cute merchandise, shirts, hats, and other items.
Plenty of parking along the main road through town.

Have you ever encountered that place when travelling that you wish you could pack in your suitcase and unfold in your own hometown? Yes, that’s Fireweed Cafe. If every business was as well-serviced, prepared, curated, and tended to as Fireweed, that would be my happy place. Fireweed says they have the “world’s best coffee” and if you don’t agree it’s not for lack of effort on their part. Good stuff. Plus, there was good live music during one of our visits. Great smoothies, frittata , kid’s grilled cheese, and more. Well done, Fireweed. Well done.

Rico Colorado’s one and only Fireweed Cafe !
Locally owned and operated and staffed by charming locals with an excellent knowledge of the area.
Charismatic old time feeling location with state-of-the-art delicious healthy foods.
I highly recommend the turkey frittata although it will most likely be sold out if you get there after 9:00
I also had a very nice salad the next day and purchased a bag of dried mangoes that was the best I’ve ever had!
Puppy Parking outside by the side deck with tables.
Not to be missed.

The moment you step into Fireweed Cafe & Marketplace, you can feel the love woven into every detail. It’s more than a café—it’s a heart-centered haven. I had the quiche of the day, and it was so delicious I devoured the generous slice without hesitation. Warm, welcoming, and full of soul—if you’re in the area and craving nourishment for both body and spirit, don’t miss this gem.

If my town could support only one coffee shop, I would want it to be exactly like Fireweed.
Super friendly staff, friendly clientele too. The GOAT breakfast burrito was on point — filling and delicious — and the coffee was good to boot.

Cute little spot, we grabbed some sandwiches here after a hike. The bread – oh my goooodness the bread was some of the best I’ve ever had (and I am a bread aficionado). Some vegan options, such as the chocolate raw bar (photo). Great latte too. lastly, the napkins were cloth – always love to see a little sustainability where we can!

Finally made it to this Rico gem. The owner was so friendly, answered my 1,000 questions, and gave me hiking recommendations. Coffee and empanadas were delicious. Highly recommend!

This little coffee shop and mercantile reminded me of a place my grandfather took me out on the dry side of Colorado when I was a kid. This little mercantile is truly a grocery store a great place to pick up odds and ends and has a nice selection of coffee drinks. I’m definitely not a vegan customer but they’re vegan menu was even appealing. Be careful and be warned the chai is excellent but they do put cayenne pepper in it!
