The food there is prepared with good intentions. The steaks a good cuts of meat but they have no flavor. The shrimp was good quality but paired with grits and “creole sauce” it was a disaster that salt wouldn’t even fix. Our server got 5 of our orders but “forgot” to put my fiancé’s order in. So he sat there for 45 min with no food. I asked for half and half tea but no need the tea was far from sweet. The selection on the menu is limited so if you go be sure to look at a menu before you go so you won’t be disappointed. Edgar’s has a long way to go to be worth the prices.

Tonight was first trip to this restaurant and I must say we eat steak a lot from all over the place including other states and we were very pleased. The steak was cooked to perfection and very tender with plenty of flavor. Our waitress was nice and make sure we were happy with our food before she left the table. She also kept our drinks full and checked on us during meal to make sure we didn’t need anything. Our salads were fresh and I loved they used spring mix and not traditional iceberg lettuce. And they served bread with our meal which made it perfect. So job well done we will be back

My husband and I went in to try the steaks. We ordered a bud light , they were out so we ordered an ultra, they were out . Our daughter called in for the bison burger, they were out. We Ordered a ribeye, we wished they were out ! I think maybe they did run out because the steak was awful thought maybe they ran over to sunflower and bought some. So thin the only way it could have been cooked was well done It was the worst $90 we have ever spent on a meal. Will never go back !

Quitman MS needs this restaurant and I’m not sure if everyone understands just how much. Most everyone I’ve spoken with complains about how expensive it is but if the food and service are good, I’ll pay. Well I tried this out because I love supporting local business. The food would be 4 stars but the service was a 2 so I rated an overall 3 because of that. Frowned upon as we walked in the door…..we were seated and we waited. I observed how the other customers were treated as well as greeted as well. My husband, who is not a huge talker however he made a huge effort to attempt to pull a smile as well as conversation but nothing. I’m all about customer service which seems to have died everywhere. I praying their successful and that the service improves because I really want this business to last.

This was the 2nd go at Edgar’s. Last time was …ok. Server wasn’t familiar with the menu (salad dressings, sides, etc). Food was good, but service was subpar for the price of the food.

This time was….no better, for sure. Had to coach the house on how to make different drinks (literally “googling” drink recipes). Staff was asking patrons what goes in their drinks. Asking if the drinks “looked right”. When I mentioned that it wasn’t quite right, the house front manager “corrected” the staff loudly where all the patrons could here. Embarrassing me and my party. At premium prices for drinks, someone other than the patron should know what’s in it.

Very disorganized service. Servers standing around giggling, making comments on the dishes they just served patrons. Telling each other how they “hate Oysters” or “don’t see how anyone eats THAT dish” “just nasty”. Literally was less than 10 feet from drink machine (7 patrons at the time including my party) and had to ask to get water/tea refilled with 4 servers behind bar talking.

Food was brought out incredibly ill timed. Not quite through appetizer and salads came out. Wanted to take the appetizer to make room for salads. No sooner that the salad dressing hit the salads that the entrées arrived. Lot to learn in timing, service, and hospitality. Chargrilled oysters were great.

Spending the kind of money in Quitman…service needs to be ON. Managers need to be checking on tables and making contacts, not talking and joking with servers. It’ll be a while before I gove them the 3rd try.

The food we ordered was perfectly cooked but a little over seasoned for us. If you enjoy lots of pepper and salt in your food than this is the place for you. We however will not go back.

As far as being out of certain foods it’s understandable in a new restaurant but I must say too p if you got to be out of something let it please be Bud light for my sake anyway nonetheless the waitress warned me that the stacked green tomatoes and shrimp with a meal in itself I doubted her when I brought the other meal home both are excellent have no fear go there any over there and eat and prosper
