We happened to go on trivia night and it was a packed house. Shortly after 6PM they had to stay turning away customers because every table and bar seat was taken. We got the wood fired wings and they were nearly fall off the bone tender! The sandwiches were just as good! They were HUGE too! You could easily split them between two people. Overall it’s a great casual spot to grab some great food! I can’t wait to go back!

1 start doesn’t even do it justice, if I could give 0 stars I would!!! Came here for my daughters birthday and was disappointed beyond belief, we ordered our food, our waitress was decent but seemed to be preoccupied with goofing off with what seemed like the owner. our food took way too long to come out when it did come, and looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Once we started eating my wife noticed her silverware was dirty!! Never coming here again, and do not recommend. A joke of a establishment for Dalton MA

Last night we had a birthday celebration for my mom and it was such a great time. The food is incredibly delicious. We all love the pizza, and we tried just about every appetizer. Such a wonderful family owned business. We are lucky to have such a special place in town.

Ordered takeout this evening for the fam. A few pizzas, village salad, some wings and a few other apps. All were absolutely delicious. Unique menu options — executed well. Quality ingredients radiated through our meal. We have a bunch of food critics for kids and they were all very pleased. While I waited for the food, there was easy conversation at the bar, very welcoming friendly atmosphere. My highest recommendations. Looking forward to going back soon. Thanks for a great meal

This is the second time my Wife and I ate at Porta Via.
Just like the time before the food was delicious.
I tried the Meatballs this time. It was Highly recommended by couple of people I know, Let me say they were phenomenal!
Get their homemade bread with the dipping oil so good.
My wife got the Tuscan Wedge salad . The servings are Generous, atmosphere is good.
Even with a little technical difficulty with their machines last night they still did their best to get meals out in a timely fashion and the owner personally came around to every table and personally apologized for any delays. This tells me this family run business cares allot about their customers to make sure they have pleasant experience.
If you haven’t yet tried this Hidden Gem in Dalton you must, you won’t be disappointed.

Went here for the first time with my sister last spring and then had to go back on my most recent visit home a few weeks ago.
I know my sister loves this place and they keep going back. It is now one of my favorites in Western Mass as well.
Great service, amazing food and drinks, and the live music and atmosphere are wonderful.
I have liked everything I have tried here but…PAY ATTENTION…. THE MEATBALLS are a MUST ORDER. There is a place in the North End that makes amazing meatballs as well but these, THESE are perfection. I have never had better meatballs anywhere. Melt in your mouth, tender. Delicious.
The chicken wings as well are done so well. A tip, we order them extra crispy or a little extra charred (depending on the type we get).
You also need to get Pappas Grappa. A perfect house made infused grappa with raisins and other dried fruits.
Great time had with family sharing food and drink and conversations with owner James and Jimbo at the bar.

What a great place you have Jay! Food, service and the live music were all top notch and made for a great dinner date with my wife. Will be back for sure! It was also a plus running into Seth playing guitar. Haven’t seen him since our high school days.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times now. I’ve experienced alot of different meals and desserts. They have all been delicious! Today however, I got the Tuscan Onion Soup. OMG the best! I make my own so I havent found any as delicious as mine until now! I really enjoy going here. The atmosphere is relaxed and the waitstaff is wonderful. My favorite is Jill. She is very kind and helpful. I had the salad special too and it was so delicious. I would recommend this restaurant 100%.
