We stopped by Meltwich in Lombard after Jumu‘ah and ordered the loaded fries, the Grilly Cheese Steak, and lemonade. We had initially wanted the Southern Fried Chicken Melt, but they had run out by then. Waqas was very friendly and immediately offered a milkshake as a kind gesture for the inconvenience, which we really appreciated.

The food was fresh and flavorful. The Grilly Cheese Steak was loaded with meat and had a great texture. The loaded fries tasted good, though they weren’t as loaded as expected—the small side of gravy, however, was a nice touch. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept, a….d the overall experience was pleasant. We’d definitely visit again.

We got the southern fried chicken melt, the standard burger and the hot mess fries. We came in shortly after it opened. They brought out our food and said the gravy wasn’t thickened enough and would make us another batch of the fries before we left but they wanted us to have the fries to eat with our meal. So thoughtful and we really appreciated it. Everything was amazing. The bread on the chicken sandwich was crispy, everything was well seasoned. Both batches of fries were absolutely amazing! Highly recommend giving this place a try!!!

Meltwhich review

I recently checked out meltwhich the day the owner posted it here.

I got food for the entire family.

1. Cheese burger
2. crispy chicken sandwhich
3. grilled cheese
4. chicken tender with fries (kids menu)

The burger was good. Potatoe bun was soft. Meat was tender but could use a bit more seasoning. 8/10

Crispy chicken sandwhich- essentially the chicken tenders on a bun. Could use more sauce per wife and daughter. 8/10

Grilled cheese – per my daughter it was very good . Large portion. Would pair well with bisque. 8/10

Chicken tenders with fries. – the picture in the menu didn’t match up to what was offered. Having said that the little kids ate it all up. 8/10

Overall, Strong variety of offering. Something different in Roosevelt Ave. I pray for their success. Ameen.

Glad to have a new and different food place in the area!

My favorite so far is the Philly cheese steak that is sandwiched between two grilled cheeses. (photo below) This hit! It’s going to by my guilty pleasure now. Mac and cheese burger is good too.

I really like the poutine! When I dine in, I’ll definitely order the poutine again. The gravy will soften the crunchy fries if they’re transported, so it’s better to enjoy it in person I feel.

I visited Meltwich in Lombard yesterday with my kids. We ordered the Spicy Nashville Chicken sandwich, The MAC Daddy, both came with fries.
Unfortunately, our experience was quite mixed, leaning mostly negative. The fries were a major disappointment; they had a distinctly unpleasant taste.
The MAC Daddy, also fell short of expectations and didn’t seem fresh or particularly tasty (It lacked the flavors).
The only item that was okay was the Spicy Nashville Chicken sandwich. It was decent, but not enough to redeem the overall meal.
On top of the quality issues, we found the overall pricing to be quite steep for the standard of food received, especially given the number of great alternatives along Roosevelt Road. We have certainly enjoyed better versions of these dishes elsewhere in the area.
Meltwich has a great location, but based on our recent visit, there is significant room for improvement in food quality and value. We hope they take this as constructive criticism to up their game and refine their offerings to better compete in the local dining scene.
Very happy that new business are coming up in Lombard and we wish the team the best of luck in improving their menu!
Will surely visit again soon.

I ordered wings in Korean bbq flavor and it was the worst chicken wings I have ever had. The wings were swinging in watery koren sauce. That is not how wings are made and serverd. I cant believe they can serve something like that. When ordering you get the option to have the wings tossed in the sause. These were swimming in koren bbq water. No flavor at all. The sauce would not sitck to the wings it was that bad. To the management, please focus on quality as soon as your rating drops below 4 it’s game over then.

Staff are very welcoming. Food was ok, we tried the popular southern fried chicken melt and poutine. The melt was much thinner than expected and I was hoping for much more cheese. The taste was pretty basic, nothing to make you go wow! Glad we got the option to choose multigrain bread

Unfortunately I found lots of beard hairs in the box next to my sandwich im glad we tried it but probably won’t be coming back

Recently got a craving for a burger while doing some shopping in Glen Ellyn, but NOT the typical mediocre at best, sad at worst deal from McDonald’s and the like. I wanted something that actually, y’know, tasted good but also didn’t cost an arm and a leg. This place popped up on Google Maps and seemed like it checked those boxes, so I decided to give it a whirl. Glad I did, because they have great food here! They have daily specials and on Mondays, they offer a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink for 10 bucks+tax. I went with that, and absolutely loved the burger. Two juicy, flavorful beef patties with nice melty cheese and all the fixins, along with a creamy sauce that added a pleasant zing to the burger without overpowering the rest of the sandwich. Not to mention a very generous portion of evenly cooked golden fries, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.

This place 100% hit the spot for my burger craving, and looking at the menu, I saw other things I really wanna try. Their “Hot Mess Fries” basically sound like poutine, something which baffles me that I haven’t seen it in more places around here considering it consists of fries with cheese curds and gravy. They have a Philly cheesesteak I’d love to try as well. Great service, too. Definitely need to come back!

Wow… My wife and I tried this place last night and had a fantastic experience from start to finish — the customer service was excellent, the food was top-notch, and the atmosphere was great. And the shakes? Absolutely S-tier!

I had the Spicy Crispy Fried Chicken sandwich (9/10) along with Oreo milkshake (9.5/10), and that combo just worked.

I might have to stop by again tonight — purely for research purposes, of course…

For the price, this place really isn’t good at all. So many other burger places on Roosevelt are cheaper and better quality. Something about the quality of meat and condiments is way off, making it difficult to even finish the sandwich. The bread is way too soft to handle everything stuffed in there. Brioche doesn’t work for a double patty burger. The chicken strips taste stale and are seasoned badly. The prices are at least a dollar or two too high on all items.

Overall, I won’t be coming back.
