Alright so boom, we seen a post on Instagram and had to stop in today! At first, I was confused about where it was because when you walk in there’s a restaurant on the right then there’s a wall with like 9 tablets to order food. Needless to say, I came for the Creole food so we ordered Kristy’s!
We ordered the fried ribs, lemon pepper turkey wings, Mardi Gras shrimp pasta, catfish and grits, swamp juice and cajun lemonade. We love supporting our people so paying $116 for dinner for four wasn’t bad! I will say that I LOVED the catfish and grits and will be back soon for it lol the turkey wings were a bit too salty for me, fried ribs was a miss for us, the rice & beans and green beans were good though. My husband said the shrimp pasta was good as well! I’m allergic to shellfish but the presentation was 10/10! Both drinks taste like homemade koolaid and I haven’t drank that in years, so it was like taking a “sip” down memory lane lol
Overall, I would recommend stopping by and grabbing some good eats from here! We’ll definitely be back and try some other items. The woman who brought the food out was also very personable and nice!

Do not believe the influencers on Instagram and TikTok. This was nothing like the reviews I’ve heard. I couldn’t wait to try it and I am super disappointed. Not only did I spend $42 but my boudin balls were burnt as you can see from the picture and lacked seasoning. Why would they even send out burnt anything to customers when you can clearly see that they were left in the fryer for too long. The gator sauce that came with it was good though. Then I had the zydeco fries. Why it came out soggy.. I’m not sure. Those also, lacked flavor. The 5 shrimp on top were overly salty. I also don’t understand why there’s an option on the kiosk for dine in or take out because I chose dine in and my food still came out in a Togo box and a bag. The swamp juice is the only thing that I actually enjoyed. $42 wasted!

PSA!!!!! Don’t just go RUN to Kristy’s Creole Kitchen! OMG! The Cajun fried turkey wings were AMAZING! So flavorful and tender! Highly recommended! And I have to mention the Cajun lemonade was delicious, brought back childhood memories! 10 out of 10! The owner Ms. Kristy was so nice and pleasant, she came out and checked on everyone, even let us try her homemade punch. MAN!!!! Listen!!! I highly recommend this place. I’m definitely going back!!!

Every single thing I ordered was seasoned to perfection. I’m talking bold, flavorful, no-shortcuts seasoning that hits from the first bite to the last. The lemon pepper turkey wings?? Unreal. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor, genuinely to die for.

I’ve been recommending this spot to others and had never tried it myself….until TODAY! I was riding around trying to figure out what to do for dinner and I happen to be close to City Kitchen.
A friend raved over the food and I’m a lover of New Orleans, so I decided to place an order. I’m so happy I did! The food came out super hot and it didn’t take long to receive it! I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee and Mardi Gras Pasta….lets just say the Etouffee didn’t make it out the parking lot! It had soooo much flavor and it truly reminded me of New Orleans, so much I’m ready to go back…
It didn’t take long to order nor was it a line. I saw others ordering so I knew I made the right choice. The chef brought my food out and was very sweet! Definitely recommend anyone to go and try it out, you definitely won’t be disappointed!!!

I had the honor of meeting Kristy and Chef Bree at a social event, and they invited me to stop by the restaurant. They told me about their menu and especially how good their turkey wings were. I went the very next day and they did not under-deliver! The wings were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Honestly, it’s the best Creole food I’ve had in Charlotte. The staff were welcoming and the prices were very reasonable. I’ll definitely be back!

For the price I paid this food just did NOT hit the mark for me, not at all! Everything tastes literally like salt! The red beans and rice was the consistency of chicken broth it did not have any thickness to it and it seemed as if it had the base of etouffee and just did not enjoy it at all and it seemed very vinegary something in it was very tart. Also, the crab bayou claws we’re heavily seasoned, heavily breaded and heavily fried, to the point I could barely taste any meat because of all of the salty breading. Didn’t enjoy it at all and it wasn’t worth the 35 minute drive that I made, and it definitely wasn’t worth almost $30. While waiting it the table someone in there on the other side kept using very vulgar and foul language and the people who were waiting on their food I don’t know if they were waiting for food from this restaurant or a different restaurant, that I do not know, but it was very unwelcoming.

This was my first time eating here and it was AMAZING ! I started eating and immediately had to come review it before I was even done. I was specifically craving salmon bites and I ordered a side of fries as well. The food was piping hot! Seasoned to perfection. It was definitely Cajun but not too spicy where I couldn’t handle it. And the LEMONADE!!!!! Took ONE sip and now I need a whole jug of it! I will be coming back for more. The woman who brought out my food was very pleasing and welcoming, great vibes overall.

I saw this place on Tik Tok and was like yes I need that and now I wish I hadn’t. $30 for the worse food I’ve had in a long time. I know Charlotte’s food scene is questionable at best but my goodness. The fried ribs were bland with no flavor and full of grease. My rice had burnt hamburger meat and the garnish on both did nothing. The fries were decent. Plus I didnt get my drink but they were gracious to tell me I could come get one at another date but that may be the only thing that was good about this food experience. The fact i had to fast for medical reasons for 24 hours.
This was the first place i decided to go after not eating. This might be the most unseasoned chicken, red beans and rice is flavorless and watery and dirty rice was bad. Boudin balls were decent with a cheese sauce.
$45 dollars wasted. Ended up making a grilled cheese at home smfh. I havent been this disappointed in a long time.
