Memorable dinner at Salt + Ash! Good food, outstanding service, and lovely atmosphere for a special meal.

My friends and I were visiting the Keys and drove into Duck Key to do dinner at Salt + Ash. Love their commitment to farm to table dining. Who doesn’t like a restaurant that highlights seasonal ingredients and local farms?

Despite being in a family resort and being super open concept the restaurant has an elegant feel to it. From the moment we were seated the service was outstanding. Our server was top notch throughout the entirety of dinner service – knowledgeable, kind, and never leaving us wanting for anything.

One con I found in the dining experience is the location of the restrooms. You have to walk outside the restaurant to access the resort bathrooms that guests use. Thankfully, they were clean but it just felt like an odd setup. Due to the open concept layout noise does travel inside so depending on how packed dinner service is the noise levels could get rather high.

The meals were all cooked to perfection. I enjoyed a smash burger with fries (which were almost like the texture of onion straws). I would have preferred a normal cut on the fries. My partners chicken was melt in the mouth and packed with layers of flavor. Our friends who both ordered the daily catch which was a triple tail on our night of service were in heaven after the first bite. The Parker house rolls were a lovely start to the meal. And the three different sorbets paired with an espresso capped the meal perfectly. The coconut sorbet was DIVINE (chef’s kiss)!

I’d highly encourage people to make reservations to this restaurant as I could see tables booking up fast during peak times of the year.

If you’re in the Keys and want a place for a nicer meal to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a nice time out and about I’d highly recommend giving Salt + Ash a try!

We had a great dinner at Salt + Ash featuring the whole snapper and whole cauliflower. The fish was perfectly cooked with a clean, light texture. The cauliflower had a good char.
The service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly accommodating and empathetic toward one of our children who wasn’t feeling well, ensuring our experience remained calm and manageable. The environment is contemporary and well-organized, making it a reliable choice for a high-quality meal within the Hawks Cay resort.

Beginning to end it was 5 stars! Faith took care of us and was awesome at guiding us through the amazing experience. She was pleasant to our children, my wife, and I. We started with the potatoes with the pork belly sofrito- Amazing. Then we had the wahoo crudo and the coconut ceviche which every bite was fresh and flavorful! The kids had the homemade pasta with red sauce and the burger and ate it all. The mushroom pizza made of home made dough was perfectly baked and also flavorful! Finally finished with a chocolate lava cake to sing our son his 6 year birthday song. We can’t tell you our favorite dish because they were all amazing.

Ultimately the flavors and textures were all perfectly balanced and worked great off of each other. Every dish was so delicious. The little details and thought shows the mastery of a five star Michelin chef! Paired with the five star service from Faith, it made this a memorable meal that sounds silly but is one of the best we have ever had! We highly recommend.

P.S. I was conflicted on even going here because I assumed it was an overhyped up restaurant and tourist trap BUT I was totally wrong! It can be pricey but considering your other option is to continue eating overpriced bar food anywhere in the Keys, this place is worth every penny. I am so glad we had this wonderful experience at Salt + Ash!!!

Amazing food! Everything we had was delicious. Cacio e Pepe puffs, truffle jalepeno balls, key west pink shrimp – and delicious drinks! Usually resort hotels don’t have the best restaurants so I wasn’t expecting much, but would come back to this restaurant even if I wasn’t staying here. Truly delicious. And the service was great, our waitress was so sweet.

Drove an hour from where we were staying just to eat here for our anniversary and it was worth it! Hands down the perfect date. Rebecca was amazing!! She made it so special and took the time to talk to us despite it getting late. The food was so delicious i’m still dreaming of the mushroom side dish we ordered. We could see the craft in our food and the thoughtful preparation of everything. Cocktails were also fabulous. Expensive but worth it. Good food and service. Rebecca thank you again for making our night special!

We went her both Sunday and Monday night we had excellent service shout out to Mo for making our horrible night better. We had the steak Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. We also ended it with milk and cookies overall great food and service it was also very pretty inside. There was a bit of a wait but good food takes time. Can’t complain they were overall wonderful.

Very very disappointed After hearing rave reviews we decided to come have dinner. The best thing we had was the potato appetizer and the weird Cesar salad. We were going to the restaurant especially for the chicken but they ran out. The service was not good. Restaurant was full and
Clearly they didn’t have enough staff I ordered the pizza margarita and it was cold and had almost no flavors. For a supposed Michelin chef it doesn’t feel like it. The food was like any other hotel type food. Just ok. Do better

Friendly service but very, very slow. Took 10 minutes to be greeted by either of the 2 bartenders standing behind the bar. Only 2 patrons at the bar besides us. Another 5 to receive our drinks. 30 minutes for a salad. 40 minutes for the pizza (mainly because we had to remind them that we had ordered a pizza and watched them argue about it for a bit before making the order). Wanted to order the beef rib but when noticing a dining room floor full of folks with no food on their table – thought the safe bet was the pizza. All in, even with the wait the food was pretty good. Will not be back unfortunately, the price doesn’t match the service. Really feel bad for the folks still waiting on their food well after we had eaten, had a couple more drinks and cashed out.

Wow! We were blown away by the food and atmosphere. Three star Michelin chef knows what he’s doing! Omar was fantastic and so knowledgeable. He guided us through our experience seamlessly and even brought out a couple complimentary glasses of champagne and sorbet for my birthday! Absolutely loved everything about Salt + Ash, great vibes and food. Can’t wait to visit again!

I booked our stay at Hawks Cay the moment I found out that Chef Jeremy Ford had opened a restaurant there—and I couldn’t be happier that I did. The dining experience was phenomenal from start to finish. Every dish, from the perfectly prepared yellowtail snapper to the mouthwatering smash burger, was perfection. Add in the exceptional service, and it’s truly a must-visit. Definitely going back!
