Was on vacation and drove 3hrs out the way to experience the World’s Famous MaeLou’s talked about Caribbean Soul Food and Baaaby when I tell, it was better than good, it was absolutely hands down THE BEST on the East Coast!!!! (& I’ll put money on theirs vs anyone’s!!!!)
I was immediately greeted with southern hospitality and the smell of heavenly food!!!
I couldn’t wait to get started, the menu was so full of a great selection I wanted to try EVERYTHING!!! (& Definitely tried to ♀️)
We ordered the turkey wings on a bed of seasoned yellow rice with a side of smacking Mac and cheese and amazing collard greens with turkey meat
We also ordered the oxtail plate on a bed of Haitian rice with a side of savory cabbage and sweet yams!!!
We also got and ox tail loaded baked potato! (It was HUGE)
And a order of tasty Lobster rolls
For Desert we got Rum/Red Velvet Cake, Strawberry Cake, And Banana Pudding!!!
I can’t emphasize enough of how amazing and flavorful every single thing we got was. I have not one complaint on anything!! Everything was seasoned just right!!!! (Somebody put they heart and soul into it, I didn’t have to add any salt or pepper)
Every Meat & Every Side had such a fresh homecooked taste!!
The grilled oxtails was so delicious and smoked to perfection!!! (Never had any come close to compatible w/that smoked flavor)
For drinks I tried the homemade Haitian tea, Pineapple Pink Lemonade, and Georgia Peach
Overall I’d Give More Stars If I Could!!!!

Food is absolutely amazing! I’ve only sampled the regular and Jerk Oxtails, paired with Caribbean Cabbage, plantains, and sweet potatoes, but each bite is bursting with flavor. It’s exciting to see a new spot in my hometown of Camilla, Georgia, filling a gap—soul food that truly hits like grandma’s cooking. The flavors explode in every bite! While I haven’t rated the atmosphere yet, since they’re just getting started, the main thing that matters— the food—definitely delivers and checks all the boxes for a fantastic meal. Their lemonades are delightful—I tried the cherry and pomegranate, and next time I plan to try the Arnold Palmer. Definitely give this place a shot—you’ll leave satisfied!
