Ming Wah – Tamarac: I’d heard whispers for years about this hole-in-the-wall Peruvian-Chinese spot but always drove right past it—mostly because, let’s be honest, the place looks like it hasn’t seen a renovation since Nixon was in office. But curiosity finally won, and I’m glad it did.

Ming Wah is pure old-school Chifa: no frills, unapologetically greasy, and weirdly charming. I ordered the fried wontons, the sopa de wantan especial, and the mixed chaufa (fried rice with pork, chicken, and shrimp). All solid. The soup especially was generous and surprisingly hearty—the small size ($8.95) could easily feed two, and the large is enough for four.

The chaufa had all the right notes: smoky, just enough wok hei, and not overloaded with salt or MSG like you sometimes get at Chifa Taypa. That might actually be a plus for some folks—it’s flavorful without being a sodium bomb. The fried wontons were crisp and classic. Nothing fancy, but they scratched the itch.

The menu is tight for Chifa standards—hits all the usual suspects—but they’ve also got a full American-Chinese menu for those who want their General Tso fix. Prices are more than fair: $25 got me all three dishes, with regular-sized portions.

The phone rang off the hook with takeout orders while I was there, and dine-in seems secondary. If you do eat in, leave a tip—these folks are working hard, and from what I saw, they’re not seeing much appreciation from the dine-in crowd. Service was prompt and the teenage girl working the front (presumably the daughter of the owners) speaks perfect English and was very nice.

I was looking for a Chinese restaurant near my house that was good and would deliver to my address. I have been on a mission to find 1 to no avail, until yesterday. I read a lot of google reviews and finally settled on this restaurant.
If u r looking for a fancy restaurant to take ur family out to for dinner that feels like they spent a million dollars renovating… then this is NOT ur restaurant, but if u r looking for great food at a reasonable price that delivers within a 3 mile radius… then look no further. It’s a small family owned restaurant in an old plaza on nob hill. They charge a $2 delivery fee, which goes towards the driver… when was the last time u saw such a small delivery fee AND it actually went to the driver?!?!? Early 2000s? Good for u Ming Wah.
The portions were enormous. They really packed the food as tight as they could get it into the containers. We picked up food for a party of 4 people for a total of $93. We way over ordered, but we wanted to try all of our favorite dishes. When we were done, we had enough food left over for at least 2-3 more meals each. They offer a family pack for $46. It’s a buyer beware option that actually works out in ur favor so make sure u actually take the time to read over what it’s offering.
Our order:
FAMILY PACK
– wonton soup
-3 egg rolls
-6 crab rangoon
– 2 liter coke
-qt of pork fried rice
-cashew chicken
-chicken lo mein
EGGPLANT in GARLIC SAUCE
BROCCOLI in a BROWN SAUCE
HOUSE PAN NOODLES

The only things we finished were the egg rolls and the crab rangoon. These 2 things were the only items we were not impressed with…. The crab rangoon was chewy and the egg roll shells were a little on the hard side, but these 2 minor complaints were overlooked by my picky family. My dad said it was the best/sweetest eggplant he’s had in a really long time. My sister, who hates everything everywhere was surprisingly happy. So the entire family said they would be back.
So what did we learn?… the food is reasonably priced, tastes great, delivers within 3 miles with a $2 delivery fee, and it looks rundown. I even took the time to call them back and tell them we were very happy with all of our meals and that they now had a new repeat customer. Take the time and try the food u won’t be disappointed with the recipes, price or portions.

The food was not good. Ordered the boneless ribs with pork fried rice and honey garlic chicken with white rice. They did not add the sauce to the honey garlic chicken and the rice on both meals was hard.

3 stars because my fiance absolutely loves their Lo Mein. He orders regularly. I’d give it 2 stars. I ordered the General Tsos chicken for the first time. It looks delicious, but it was extremely bland. No flavor and just tasted like corn starch. I like that they use white meat, so no yucky pieces. For the price…..was just ehh.

This is a small restaurant in the middle of “nowhere Broward” but still does a lot of business because of their quality and reputation. So glad I found this place. I’ve been ordering from them basically once a week. The dinner specials are the deal! A meal, with an egg roll and soup for under $15. Can’t find that anywhere especially at their quality!

I been craving Chinese food how I normally get it back home in jamaica and it’s the exact same. I was so happy I didn’t get fried chicken and sweet and sour sauce it was already sauced. The food was amazing the fried jumbo shrimp was perfect not too much flour and right amount of shrimp. No complaints will order from here always.

A humble setting but their food has an amazing Peruvian fusion which makes it perfect competition. Great taste and a family owned business that you see in action while everyone contributes!! Well done, excellent flavors !

You cannot call wonton with meat when you are not able to find the meat inside the wonton. Don’t promote Peruvian style Chifa if you don’t know how it is. Ripped off.
