When we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was empty. Empty on a Saturday evening? Is that a red flag? As my family and I were deciding whether to stay or not, we were burned too many times from these types of scenarios and were reluctant to go through that again. Then a lady from the back greeted us. Awww, what the heck? We had a long day and were hungry. How bad can the food be? The Google reviews were mostly trolls reviewing with low ratings and answered with witty and sarcastic replies from the business. Sarcasm is my kind of language. I ordered the Pollo A La Brasa 1/2 chicken entree with a side of rice and beans and ordered an additional side of maduros. We also ordered the skirt steak and chicken salad. The food came. The chicken salad was loaded with onions. There were enough onions to fill a plate. Must have been the market special with red onions. Wished it had avocados tho, that would have made it a bussin’ salad. But no complaints on the salad except for the mountain of onions and no avocado. There was also alot of liquid at the bottom of the salad, did not look like dressing, looked like they rinsed the salad first with water or something. Was a clear liquid, not resembling lemon juice and oil. But, that’s fine, no one died and we just poured the liquid out onto a spare plate. The skirt steak came with a side of chimichurri. My chicken dish was missing something. The Aji Verde sauce! I asked our hostess if there was aji verde sauce. Yep, she forgot and brought it out. I can say that the aji verde sauce was a highlight, I thought it was very fresh and not as processed as the aji verde sauce they serve at Pio Pio. The beans and rice are considered 2 separate sides, which I don’t understand, since it goes together. The beans was in a broth, they weren’t pinto beans, but a yellow bean. They didn’t use sazon to season it, but that’s fine, jt was still tasty. So 4 stars for me. As we enjoyed our meal even though there were a couple things that could have been an issue for another, but whatever, no one died and we left satisfied.

So is my first and last time coming into this place since I want to get the lunch. I called the place to make a order which nobody answered… once I got to the place I got a soup with green spaghetti (lunch menu) I paid 17 and change. PORTION ARE TERRIBLE , they give you a scoop of pasta a big breast chicken to hide the minimum pasta they give and really small soup. I was surprised for the food portion. Pasta needed salt in other words it needed make it again and all I tasted was cheese , disgusting! Never again! So sad that the place inside is beautiful but food is not worth it!

Tried the anticuchos de corazón because the server recommended them and I’m so glad we did. Super tender and seasoned perfectly. Not chewy at all like I’ve had elsewhere. You can tell the kitchen really knows traditional Peruvian flavors.

Came in on a Friday night and the energy was great. Ordered the lomo saltado and it was cooked perfectly tender steak, flavorful sauce, and that smoky wok taste you just can’t fake. Paired it with a pisco sour and it was game over. So good.

The Jalea portion was huge and super crispy without feeling greasy. You can tell they know how to fry seafood the right way. We also tried the sangria and it was refreshing and not overly sweet. Perfect for sharing with friends.

Arroz con pollo verde was comforting, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The rice had so much depth of flavor. We also started with causa de pollo and it was beautifully presented and light but satisfying. Everything tasted homemade.

Hands down the best ceviche in the area. Fresh fish, perfectly citrusy, and just the right kick. We ordered a round of pisco sours and they were strong but smooth. You feel like you’re somewhere special when you’re here.

The pollo a la brasa was juicy and packed with flavor all the way to the bone. And that green sauce? I’m convinced they put something magical in it. I dipped everything in it. Fries, chicken, even the rice. Absolutely addictive.

We live right here in Mineola and can’t believe it took us this long to try this place. The ceviche de corvina was ridiculously fresh, bright, flavorful, perfectly balanced. The aji verde is honestly dangerous. I asked for extra and have zero regrets. This is officially our new go-to.

Had a great dining experience, we were a large party and we all left very satisfied. The meats were all done to perfection, entrana, chicken, chorizo & antichichos were delicious. The soups both chicken and shrimp chowder were very flavorful. The sides were equally delicious, I don’t actively seek out maduros or tostones but they’re delicious here. Bonus: the sangria and mojitos are great. Adding to my rotation going forward.
