If you’re ever in Pittsburg near Pittsburg Airport, please, please grab a pizza from this place. You will not be disappointed. It doesn’t look all too assuming, but don’t let that fool you. I had a taste for pizza yesterday evening and came across the reviews for this very basic pizza site. I brought the cheezy bread pizza and pepperoni. DELICIOUS . The crust is chewy, and the pizza was hot. As I’m adding pepper flakes, I’m eating the cheezy bread and having even left yet with the food I ordered. On top of that, the owner named Ty is a fan of Dungeons & Dragons and is reinventing a different perspective on helping folks to really level up on their characters and is inviting anyone who is interested to come by on Sundays @ 7 . Oh, there is a Pacman arcade machine you can play for free. Enjoy.

I’m not from New York but this is what I imagine the perfect New York slice to be. It’s perfectly cooked, thin, foldable, pleasantly greasy, with great stringy cheese and a pepperoni that just works, if you swing that way.
Workers and management are always nice every time I’m there, if you bring kids or eat in, then every seat is a window seat surrounding the kitchen. There’s a free play Pac-Man table near the door. Good vibes, big, slightly greasy, perfectly indulgent pizza. A little bit pricey, but still recommend if you’re near the airport, accessible from there too, just a quick ride.

Less than 15 min from walk-in to order being ready. The owner is super friendly. You can tell he is passionate about what he’s doing and that just makes eating the food so much more enjoyable. I also appreciate how simple the menu is.
The veggie sarnie (sandwich) is massive! Wife and I split one and we’re stuffed… The picture is one sandwich he split into two boxes for us. The fries were a little salty but quite possibly on par with any of the best fries I’ve had and not greasy.
The cheesy bread and marinara were good, the garlic butter is amazeballs, the cheese pizza was acceptable but I’d need to try some with toppings before I made a decision. However, my kids loved it.
In summary, I overate and wish to give my compliments to the chef. If I lived here I could see this place easily becoming a favorite.

This is truly the “original” Home Town Pizza. They’ve been in various locations in the area for over 30 years and have consistently been our favorite. Both their pizzas and sandwiches are out of this world-appropriate since they are in Moon. Seriously though, the quality is outstanding and you can tell these guys take great pride in putting out a fantastic product. Dine In or Take Out – either way you will not be disappointed.

In the extremely flooded pizza market of the 15108, my #1 will always be Original Hometown Pizza! How flooded?, I’ll tell ya later. I’ve been eating this pizza since 1998 or earlier, when it was just a football field away from my residence. Pretty sure he put 4 Star pizza out of business for good in Moon. Mark Latvala, still at the helm today, opened that first spot in a former Subway location. He then moved into a former Dunkin, then a former Taco Bell, and finally to the Fern Hollow Plaza. Wild ride, right? And, yes the Dunkin was an all wood an orange motif, and the Tbell furniture had the purple, teal, and white colorway that they are currently pushing.
Mark ended there at the plaza, what seemed to be for good. Maybe 2017-2020, don’t @ me if I’m wrong. Fast forward to post pandemic. Some jag opened up a “Hometown Pizza”(at a former Quizno’s). With the red & yellow signage and all! The moniker soon changed to “Bruno’s Hometown Pizza”. He was a FRAUD! I can only assume Mark came out of retirement to save the reputation of Hometown! Hence the “Originial” addition.

I love this place. The people there are really friendly while I was ordering pizza. It has a nostalgic feel to it and I felt like a kid again. They had a free arcade game (Galaga) to play while I was waiting for my pizza. The pizza is really good. Definitely coming back and I highly recommend.
