Really delicious food with great service and a wonderful atmosphere. I had the baja fish tacos, and they came out very crispy and flavorful. They came out with a side of rice and beans, and the salsa was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was very clean and festive. Staff went out of their way to make sure we got everything we needed. The waitress gave us complimentary dessert (OMG, the churros are amazing), and extra salsa and chips to go. HIGHLY recommend. One of the best Mexican places in town.

We went to lunch toward the end of a snowstorm. Wait staff gave us all the time we needed to choose our meals – which was good because the menu is huge with a lot to choose from. My daughter loved her fajita taco salad, and my other daughter finished it. My carne asada and the pollo loco were also both delicious. We also got the sample platter, which was less to our liking/personal taste, but still very good and the presentation was excellent.

All in all a great experience.

Service was amazing!! I always ask for extra sour cream at places. Our server came over just to make sure they put enough on there for my liking which was very much appreciated! And was on top of taking plates, refilling drinks, and making sure we were doing good! Food was super good! I ordered chicken burrito special and the chicken was flavorful. Got food extremely fast! This is gonna be one of our go to from now on!

There used to be a different restaurant in the same location. The food was nice. Not overly expensive but not memorable. It’s a convenient location by hotels. Probably not my first choice to dine at if i stayed in this area again. Had the steak tacos.

Very Nice Restaurant Decor! Nice Location! But the Food wasn’t IT! The Chips Was COLD & Not To Fresh! Groc Was Fake Cold From the Store! Not Freshly Made! I Had the Chicken Soup! COLD FULL OF CHICKEN & GREASE NO Veggies just SALSA TOSSED INSIDE THE SOUP! WITH A TON OF RICE!! DEFINITELY NOT The MEXICAN SOUP I WAS Looking Forward TO!! I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD! But this Place is a WRAP FOR ME.. Even the Drink was FULL OF SYRUP!!

I saw the restaurant website on google and it looked good and had 4.5 star rating. My wife and I were greeted as we came in the door and got seated immediately! The staff were excellent from start to finish. You start out with the chips (which were warm and not greasy) and a very tasty salsa, that had chunky veggies and a mild flavor. Not too spicy even for my wife. It was only a couple minutes before our waiter came and took our drink order. I had a frozen margarita and it was very good. My wife doesn’t eat much, so she had a burrito with ground beef, lettuce, sour cream, and melted cheese on top. I had el Toreado, which is grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, and bacon over a bed of rice and covered with cheese sauce! I also asked if they would grill in some green pepper and onion as well, which was no problem. When the food came out the waiter sat our plates in front of us and the aroma of the grilled food was amazing and tasted as good as it smelled! When we were finished the waiter brought the check, and a customary (in this restaurant) a shot of tequila for me. I couldn’t really understand the waiters explanation of why, but I gathered it was something they did for customers. Our bill was less than 40 dollars for everything!!! Needless to say I will be visiting them again and again Wonderful food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere!!! Thank you folks!! It was delicious

Beautiful interior, they did a nice job remodeling this restaurant. Service was not good. Had to ask multiple times for the same thing. Food was average. Guacamole was good, add some salt and pepper and it would be perfect!

Get a taste of Ames’ new restaurant, El Patio. Opening last week, El Patio offers a new Mexican American food spot in West Ames. From the start, the inside feels refreshing and new with white leather seating. The decals on the inside are super modern as well. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa could have used a bit more kick. We had three different plates for this dinner. 1. Steak with rice, a full plate of rice, and steak with a cheese sauce and tortilla. It was really good, but the steak could use a little bit more seasoning. The steak tacos were super good. Topped with cilantro and onions, it really hit the spot. The last is enchiladas supreme. It was a really traditional take on the dish and really hit the spot. On Saturdays, the lime margarita in the rocks is only $5.99. However, I would probably skip it in the future. Today me the drink wasn’t super strong, and to me, the mix seemed off. However, to my two counterparts, the drink hit harder. We will definitely be going back!
