Like everyone else has said, best southern food anywhere around here. Had the barbecue oxtail special with coconut rice, extra side of rice and gravy and coleslaw which are always excellent!!!!!! Photo doesn’t do it justice as I ate most of it before taking the pick due to being so good. Staff are always very friendly and just makes you thankful that they are here to bring this wonderful food to have some Southern food memories which is really difficult to find in Washington

I’m so glad I found this restaurant! They are open on weekends and have limited hours, but have a comforting, down-home feel and friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. I tried two-piece fried chicken meal with cornbread, coleslaw, and mac & cheese (drink was included) and it was an affordable, filling, and tasty lunch for under $20. The chicken was delicious and seasoned well! The food was cooked to order and worth the few minutes of wait time. They even offered me a free slice of cake; I believe it may have recently been someone’s birthday.

Everything was so amazing!! Meals come with cornbread with real corn!

Excellent food here, I got the 4 piece chicken with rice and gravy, honey spicy wings with mash potatoes and gravy, catfish, cornbread dressing and mac and cheese. The chicken is organic. Everything was real good. I really liked the catfish, I wish it came in bigger servings but definitely a staple order. Their gravy is hitting, I’m getting extra gravy everything. And it was cheap $9 for order of wings and a side. All orders are made fresh so it can be a wait but worth it. We will be regulars.

Delicious food and even better service. The pastor that owns this restaurant is truly an amazing man. This local spot is delicious. The menu changes but you really can’t go wrong with anything you get. This time around we got 2 orders of fried chicken, mac n cheese, rice and gravy and their dessert, which was sweet potato dumplings. We started with the dessert. Oh boy was it delicious. Cooked perfectly not too sweet, but so flavorful. I wanted more. The chicken was extra crispy and fresh, as they make it fresh to order. The sides were also delicious. Cannot wait to go back and see what the pastor is cooking up!

Gotta give these guys 5. Both son and I had the fried chicken to go. Very good. Maybe not the ideal dine-in for date night (it is a soul food place after all) but the owner and chef know their stuff and super friendly. Worth going out of the way for the chicken and rice with gravy no question. BTW, consider calling in your chicken order about 30 min in advance as the chicken is cooked to order as it should be.

I’m glad I found this gem randomly scrolling through Google maps! I ordered the Catfish platter with fries, a side of Mac and cheese, and collared greens for lunch.
My order was out in 10-15 minutes, which was great timing considering there were 3-4 people also with to-gos in front of me! While I waited, the staff were all extremely friendly and kept me updated on the cook times of the food.
By the time I got back to my work, everything was still piping hot. The catfish was juicy, the tartar sauce was delicious, and the Mac and cheese was comforting. I’ve never tried collard greens before and after this, I would definitely have them again. The food was plenty for my lunch and reheated well for a late day snack.
I’m going to have to come back and check out the rest of the menu!

The chicken here is a must have. It’s cooked fresh to order 25 min. We ordered the 8 piece and so juicy and crispy. We also ordered the wingetts. They were breaded and fried like the 8 piece. The oxtail stew was the star. It was served over coconut rice it was sweet, a little spice and so savory. We literally were sucking the bones clean. The Mac n cheese was so creamy and perfect!
