Back on 2/1/20: another great meal.
We sat in the bar area and had the pre fixe special. I had the pasta and the trout. The Gf had the pasta and the pork. Both dishes were really good. Service was amazing as before.

We ate dinner here twice in Feb ’19. Both times were really good! Excellent service and very very good food. Nice wine selection too. We’ll be back next winter 🙂

The staff was top notch and the food was excellent! They did a good job with maintaining social distancing requirements and our waiter, Tim, made some excellent recommendations. Overall the staff (and Tim) kept the service at an extremely high level. This was my first time eating at Pinons but it certainly won’t be the last!

Bread is amazing. Tuna tacos are a great starter. Buffalo was ok, tasted like filet. Fish was fresh. Pasta special was lobster and shrimp, really good. On the pricey side.

Upscale restaurant with innovative mountain cuisine. I had Freddy’s salad to start and then the herb crusted red trout with crab and roasted veggies. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.

Becoming my favorite restaurant in Aspen. Everyone was attentive and helpful. Ordered the trout with crab and my friend ordered the pork tenderloin. Both were cooked perfectly and delicious.

The service here is absolutely exceptional. it’s obvious that the staff really cares about their customers and the quality of the experience. The food is undeniably excellent. I had the ribeye and it was prepared perfectly I couldn’t have been happier. the wine selection is out of this world so many pages love incredible bottles from all around the globe.

Pinon’s is a fine dining restaurant and it certainly lives up to its reputation. I would recommend for a special occasion – anniversary, birthday etc. or if you are looking for a sophisticated dining experience. There is a great bar menu available if you are scared of the Aspen prices – $35 for 2 courses. Totally worth it. The service is great and the food is excellent. Make a reservation long time in advance – the restaurant gets booked up fast.

Food was good but service was rude, slow, and terrible. Seated next to the door on a cold night and our table was practically in the way. Yet the waitress took forever to come to our table throughout the dinner. When she was there she acted like she could care less about us even though we dropped $300 on a small dinner. And she poured poured champagne like it was water from a pitcher… Regret not walking out when we first realized our waitress was not attentive.

Mostly a great experience at Pinon’s … food was great, lamb chops, good wine, mostly relish! Lamb chops get good praise, waiter made a good wine suggestion, oysters good .. pretty much everything really good. I must say I wasn’t blown away, but maybe one little “something extra” would have made it a slightly better night. We had some really interesting and delicious food, and believe me, we are foodies and eat out all over the world. Each dish was delivered and everything was beautiful and quite tasty … where they could have been much much better, was just explaining each dish and what the nuances and special parts were. This is known to be one of Aspen’s best restaurants, and it was … but this part somewhat ruined our meal. I would love to talk to the GM or owner about it. Example one: We had some delicious oysters. Standard fare with some pink shaved iced thing in the middle, great horseradish was part of it. We dipped our fork in the pink shave ice thing, really couldn’t tell what it was??? Why didn’t the waiter or the server just say, “here we have some delicious oysters from Massachusetts, and in the middle is our home made Tabasco sorbet” … we had to ask AFTER we finished our oysters, so we feel we didn’t enjoy that special homemade experience because we had no clue what it was, the oysters were “just delivered”, no explanation like most great places do. The same thing happened with our crab cake and lobster appetizer. It was outstanding and delicious …. but the waiter nor server did not explain to us until we waived him down and asked, “so where’s the lobster”, he then told us it was inside the crab cake … again, delicious, but we missed the experience thinking they forgot the lobster. So … good marks for food, servers were “nice”, but they completely ruined our “experience” by not being very attentive and helping us to know a bit more about the food …. like most high end places do. This is one of those, “should be 5 star reviews”, but it’s not.
