I was driving thru, saw a sign for BBQ. It was attached to the bowling alley. I went in and glad I did! Sat morning $1 smoked wings and $4 pork sandwiches.
Wow, it was great. Jay really knows how to make smoked meats. Tasted great, texas style sauce and rubs in the center of NC. It was a real treat to the taste buds.
Worth a stop, the wings were by far the best I’ve had in NC; dryrubbed, slow smoked and a touch of sauce. At a $1 a piece, I felt like I stole them.
Inside was nice and clean, in fact I had so much fun I reserved a lane to bowl a game.

Really satisfying experience!!! It was a quick visit after my office hours, and they really made my day with their extraordinary food. Got the order within 5 minutes, and it was smoky and full of flavor. The smoked gouda mac and cheese was creamy and rich. Definitely a place to try if you love BBQ food.

The Pig Pen is a hidden gem tucked inside Buffaloe Lanes bowling alley on 5th St in downtown Mebane. You order counter service with dedicated seating for the restaurant. We had the Fat Man Sampler which was 1/3 lb of their pulled pork, brisket, sausage and smoked turkey, plus sides of smoked Gouda bacon Mac and collard greens. The meat and sides were delicious. The meats were all flavorful and juicy with just the right amount of smoke and seasoning. The sides were also excellent. This is become one of our new favorite barbecue places. Highly recommended!

After we got done playing in the arcade and bowling, we were starving! It was great that this place is inside the bowling alley! The food was delicious and so filling! I do wish the menu was written down on paper in addition to the screen, because I kept missing the menu that had the sides on it. The employees were super friendly and helpful! We’ll definitely be back!

Tried the smoke show salad and it was AMAZING! The best salad in the area by far! Everything we have tried has been delicious!

The food here was really good. It’s hard to get good barbecue this way that’s seasoned and seasoned correctly and everything I had here was delicious, all while being randomly located in a bowling alley! Their smoked wings were really good as well and they have reasonable prices.

What a hidden gem! We loved them as a food trunk and love them even more now that they have a brick-and-mortar location. The smoked meats are some of the best around. We had the brisket, barbeque sandwich, gouda mac and cheese, coleslaw and their own bottled barbeque sauce. All pros no cons. You have to try them. Don’t let the fact that they are located in the bowling alley keep you from trying them. A Local family-owned and operated business and a veteran as well. They are 100% on point!

I took my friend here to try their brisket, and we were both amazed by its quality. They even came over to ask about our experience. Really amazing guys

We stopped for a late lunch mid-afternoon after a trip to the Mebane outlets. Highly recommend- only a mile away! The brisket plate plus Mac and cheese, collards, and slaw fed two of us and we got additional chicken tenders and hush puppies. Everything came out hot and the wait was short (admittedly we weren’t at a peak serving time). The flavors were excellent – smoky, vinegar brisket complimented the creamy Mac with a unique Gouda tang. The hush puppies were by far the best I’ve had in a while…crispy with a nice hint of onion. Service was great and I love that it is a local family run business. We will visit again – I want to try the Brussels sprout salad and some more bbq meats! Thanks, Fat Man!
