Came here to celebrate my fiances birthday as we stayed down the road at fish lake. We were there earlier so maybe that’s why there weren’t any servers. Definitely recommend going during happy hour especially if you’re hungry! The nachos and the fries are very filling for a great price!

Came here yesterday (Friday) around 8pm with my husband and 3 kids. Parking is on the side, there was stairs going up and stairs going to the balcony and stairs going to the patio, no signs where to go so we went through the patio and thought we should go inside so they can sit us down, we went up to the balcony and inside. It was pretty slow so we observed and thought its self order and sit anywhere. It was a young cashier, i asked her if the shrimp was boiled or fried and she said “you eat it raw” (looking at the pictures now they’re not raw) so i just bought an Italian beef, diablo burger (from its name i thought it was going to be spicy which is why we got it but it wasn’t at all ) chicken tenders and a plain cheese burger, all came with fries and spent $60 and $16 + tip for 3 drinks and beer at the bar. We took our food to the patio where there was a tent, First thing we saw was big spiders and no netting under the railing so I had to move the kids so they don’t accidentally fall off their chairs and into the water. It was dark, we didn’t see the ants on our table until we started eating.

*****UPDATE TO REVIEW***** from experience 6/21/24
Okay, so I wanted to come and update my review. Down below is my original review and experience. I am changing my rating of this place from 4 stars to 1 star. After our experience here last week , we told our kids about it all week and took them out for dinner. I went and placed my order and thought there was a mistake bc it was basically double what I had paid a week prior. I asked the cashier if I missed something because on Fridays, the food is half priced…. Well, apparently, the owners got greedy and decided LITERALLY that morning that they were no longer going to do that. No warning, no advertisement on social media or anything letting people know things would change… they just did it. They told their staff that morning also. I felt extremely bad for the girls at the restaurant. They basically got yelled at all day bc the owners pulled the rug out on their pricing after they had convinced people to go there on Fridays. You could tell people were angry. I even witnessed someone talking to a manager and a waitress, making them even more miserable than they already were. It is absolutely appalling and shameful. I do not have a problem with a restaurant changing their specials or pricing… but… to cold turkey, making a switch like that, and putting their entire staff in a very stressful environment is unbelievable. The owner wasn’t there telling everyone about the changes… instead, he had young girls do it all night while people blew up on them and lost their temper. (I did not blow up on them, just expressed it was a little frustrating, but let them know I wasn’t mad at them, and it wasn’t their fault). I will say I was very impressed with how the girls and staff kept their composure all night as I don’t know how I would’ve handled being treated like that all day.

Shame on you Freddie’s I’m guessing you will now be famous for something other than your food going forward.

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM DINNER 6/14/24
Okay, so this place is kind of wild if you’ve never been here. My husband and I went here on a whim, and when we arrived, we were thoroughly confused. We walked in, and there was a huge bar in the middle of the room, and no hostess or waitresses were to be seen. We waited a minute and asked the bartender for help. She explained that you find a seat anywhere, and then you order your food at the counter up front. We opted to sit outside as inside were all hi-top tables. I won’t lie… all the tables were dirty. All of them… honestly, they were filthy… so we pulled out some wipes and cleaned one and ate there. We accepted that this is just how this place works. It’s very self-service and just plan ahead that you have to clean your own tables… after we ordered our food, we waited outside, watching for our order number to generate… it never did… we watched and waited, and it never moved. I went inside to check and saw that our food was done and basically had been sitting there bc they had forgotten to update their number generator. The food itself was fine. The burger was standard, nothing that was mind-blowing, but it was still good. The loaded fries were VERY good. All in all, while it was a bumpy experience, I would still go back. On Fridays, they have half-price food, which was really awesome.

Just stopped in for drinks, but the atmosphere was so chill. Came in dirty after a mud girl run and people high fived us and treated us kindly although we weren’t looking our best. Drinks were poured generously and the rum runner and other drinks the other girls had were all delicious! Live music in the background. Shout out to our bartender who took care of us! Will be going back to try the food if I’m ever in the area. Nice little hidden gem!

Unless your a local this place will confuse you big time. Showed up at 630pm on a weekday, no signs of where to go to get in or sit. Go inside the main building and ask, they say go sit wherever you want and someone will be with you shortly. Sat outside under the large tent by the marina and waited 45 minutes and not one single person came over. Place was disappointing, could have been way better with better management, signage, and staff.

A great place to get together with friends and family for some fun. Plenty of room inside and out. Bars inside and out. Food is great. Especially their hamburgers and fries. You order inside and pay and then they call your number to pickup your food. When it’s busy, it can take some time to get your food, but it’s worth it. Enjoy!

This squirrel ️ and his brother visit here offen. It’s fair price for a bar , burger spot on the lake.
It’s a mix place, lots of boaters, and bikers. Good place to do some summer time day drinking .
At night it’s a good night club (for the Fox Lake area, come on it’s not Chicago). The place has a real fun care free vibe. It reminds me how those videos start, you know the ones on that website which ends in hub.
If you drink and are care free, you’ll love it. If you have to have high heels and pure white skirt on, this places isn’t for you.

The place may be great, but our experience was confusing from the start. There was no one to greet or seat us, and the table simply read “self-serve.” If you wanted a drink, you had to go up to the bar—which might be fine—but as first-time visitors, we had no idea how things worked. To make it more confusing, the menu on the table listed happy hour specials, but it turns out happy hour is only Monday through Thursday. Since it was Friday, we were left wondering what we could actually order. My husband says, “This not a place to take someone out to eat. There is no service and there is no one there to help you enjoy your experience.”

Their table service was non-existent. Items listed on the bar menu were missing also. Food overall was good, but only one cook was wearing a hat and gloves. The many others behind the counter were not dressed for food service. Most were on their phones, I wonder why they could not be waiting on tables or at least be learning how.

They are probably busy for the summer boating season, but I am not planning a return visit any time soon.
