Here in the Santa Clarita Valley, prior to Sbarro, we had no place at all where we can get NYC-style pizza. (Outside of one adults-only place that’s only open in the evening). As a NYC cheese slice fanboy, I was super excited when this location opened (or maybe re-opened.) There is a lot of pizza up here…most of it is just okay…a couple of really good Neopolitan shops, but Sbarro is the only place here where you can get pretty good NYC-style slices (or even a whole pie.)
The slices themselves do a decent approximation of a NYC slice in terms of look, thinness, and crispiness. They taste good too, though the crust itself has a little more buttery texture and taste to it like you might expect from an authentic Chicago-style deep dish pie. (But shaped thin like a NYC slice.) So whereas it’s pretty good, it does remove a tiny bit of the NYC slice authenticity I’m going for.
I’m happy I can get it delivered too. Though I wish they were open later on Sundays (they close at 6pm) as that’s official pizza night in these parts.
For now it’s the best, accessible NYC-style pizza we have up here in the SCV.

It’s been 20 years since I had Sbarro and I enjoyed every bit as much as I remembered as a kid. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Quick service and affordable: I ordered two whole pizzas and asked how long, 15 to 20 minutes – and I got them in 15. The kitchen looked clean and well organized. Very impressed and my son who has his first slice of Sbarro today also loved the pizza. Highly recommended. The only place in Santa Clarita where you can get anything close to a New York slice.

Sbarro is back and better than ever. I’ve been here a few times since it reopened after an 18-year-or-so hiatus and it has not disappointed. The food is good, the service is fast, and the employees are friendly. I rarely order pizza for delivery, and now I don’t at all. If I want a pizza pie, I come here. After all, NY style is the best and Sbarro is where you can get that in SCV.
