Finding a restaurant that has an amazing stuffed rockfish is hard to find. This place exceeded my expectations.

My rockfish was nice, thick, meaty, and tasty. Cooked perfectly. The crab imperial stuffing went perfectly with it.

I haven’t been here since it was Sunset. Was very surprised how empty the restaurant was on a Sunday evening.

The staff was phenomenal.

I highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of dining at Mike’s Inland at Sunset Restaurant recently, and it’s a spot worth checking out for seafood fans. The rockfish bites were the highlight—crispy, fresh, and packed with flavor, they were an absolute treat. The hush puppies were equally impressive, perfectly fried with a delightful balance of crispiness and subtle sweetness. These two dishes alone make this place a must-visit!

The ambiance inside was warm and inviting, with a cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home, though I should note there are no windows to enjoy any actual sunset views despite the restaurant’s name. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience.

On the downside, the steamed dishes could use a boost in flavor. While they were well-prepared, they felt a bit bland and would benefit from bolder seasoning or a zesty sauce to bring them to life.

All in all, Mike’s Inland at Sunset is a great choice for a seafood fix, especially for those incredible rockfish bites and hush puppies. A little tweak to the steamed dishes would make this place even better. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I have been to the Mike’s location near Annapolis before and loved it. I was a little disappointed with this place. The atmosphere has almost no character, it actually has a cafeteria vibe to it. I will say that the crabs were good and our service was absolutely excellent. Despite the crabs being good and enjoying our appetizers, we found it very odd that there are absolutely no vegetables or salads to be had. No corn, no green beans, no salad… I don’t know about you but when I have dinner I like to have a vegetable.
It’s an expensive night out but most crab places are. I would recommend going to the Costas Inn or similar before going back to Mike’s Inland. (That said, the tater tots smothered in cheese and crab dip are amazing!)

Was excited to try this place. It looks very pretty inside and is very bright. Things started off well that they are a Coca-Cola facility, and it was very good. However, we were disappointed that drinks were served in opaque, thin, and flimsy plastic cups–the kind you would have at a cookout. We ordered the crabdip appetizer. It was $17 for about 6 oz of dip. It was good, but it was a very small portion and 1 small loaf of warm bread for 3 of us. The bread was good, but it would have been nice to have 2 loaves, especially at the price. We were given white cardboard plates to eat that on. My friends ordered shrimp salad and fries for $16. They said there wasn’t much spice in the shrimp salad and asked for Old Bay, and it helped. The fries were standard restaurant crinkle fries–nothing special – but they were hot and good. I got the coconut shrimp appetizer as my meal for $13. There were 6 decent sized shrimp and a tasty dipping sauce. They were cooked well and not over fried. However, they were served in a cardboard tray like you’d get at a fast food place. I just expected there to be real dishes and at least hard plastic drinking cups. The crab dip and shrimp salad were on real dishes, and the silverware was restaurant standard. It looks very nice and more upscale in decor than our food represented. The menu didn’t have as many offerings as I expected either. Our waiter was nice, but he took a long time checking in on us, and we had to ask for drink refills every time. Because the cups were small, we had 4 refills. He seemed very inexperienced and talked very softly–it was hard to hear him.
The restroom was clean and pretty, but only one stall. Overall, the food was good, but not great. I guess I just had higher expectations.

The crabs were absolutely delicious. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because I had to pay for mayo and ketchup. That really blew me! I go to Mike’s in Pasadena all the time when they were open, and I never had to pay for mayo and ketchup to make my crab sauce. They were $2.50 a bottle, so I paid $5.00 to make my crab sauce. I wasn’t to happy about that. My sauce was nasty, because they had the cheap mayo and ketchup. I definitely will bring my crab sauce already made from home the next time.

I loved seeing my Pasadena crew here for the winter! Now I can have my crabs all year long with the staff I love. And get the best service from the best waitress in the world, Lexie! It’s beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, fireplace, accent wall, beautiful artwork and nice bar areas. Come on over to Mike’s in Glen Burnie, where Sunset was located and have you some Christmas and Crabs. Lol!

Michelle was excellent. She has been with mike’s four 14 years. We absolutely love her ! However, I would give the food a rating of about an 8. Way too much vinegar in the coleslaw, And here is the tip for the cook, Less stuffing in the crab imperial. Otherwise we were pretty much satisfied.

First time visiting since the reopening. Sorry to say we were disappointed. Burger night and what a let down. Menu stated it was an 8 oz Angus burger and it was far from it. It was actually 2 skinny dried out pre-made patties. Definitely not 8 oz. Also my husband ordered a Manhattan and was very disappointed. Poor quality liquor and no ice. Not sure if we’ll return.
