Randomly ran in to this place and decided to give it a shot. Service was informative and friendly! Had the chicken and fried rice bowl and it was delicious!! Food is a bit pricey. Mane sure to try their version of spicy mayo.

Typically, this restaurant serves amazing food. However, the service at this particular location is absolutely unacceptable. On multiple occasions, we’ve placed orders and requested simple modifications, only to be told by the cashier that the cooks “don’t like to modify items.” That’s completely unreasonable — I’ve never heard of a restaurant refusing to adjust a dish for a customer.
When you call to place an order, the staff sounds robotic and uninterested. There’s no greeting, no thank you — just a dull “What can we get started for you?” It feels like calling a fast-food chain rather than a Japanese grill. A friendly “Hello, thank you for calling Habachihana Japanese Grill in Orange” would go a long way.
When you arrive, things only get worse. The cooks behind the glass often work without gloves, and if an order is made incorrectly, they’ll pick food out by hand to fix it — then place the same meat back on your rice. It’s unhygienic and unacceptable.
This location consistently puts the customer last. Management and ownership are nowhere to be found, and it’s clear that no one takes responsibility for the poor service. All they seem to care about is getting food out, not whether customers are satisfied.
My family even has a food allergy, and when we requested an ingredient be placed on the side, they refused — saying they “don’t have enough containers.” That’s not just lazy; it’s dangerous and disrespectful.
Meanwhile, the staff watches TV at full volume near the entrance, completely ignoring the dining environment. The entire experience feels careless and unprofessional.
If I could give this location zero stars, I would. Save yourself the frustration and visit the Ball Rd or Valley View locations instead — they truly care about their customers and the food they serve.

Amazingly good with the sauces, the chicken breast they used for the chicken bowl was huge saw them put it on the grill. They do change up their specials, it used to come with a drink too, but now I understand the drink is now not priced in the special.Thumbs up portion for $14.99 for chicken bowl and drink, big portion don’t miss out.

We went to the Habachihana Grill in the city of Orange for lunch at around 2:45. I ordered the Salmon, Ahi Tuna, and Shrimp entrée combination plate to share with my son. The plate includes veggies and white rice but we upgraded to fried rice. We both have big appetites and only had some popcorn and candy prior to this… but oh wow it was a lot of food. We skipped dinner because we were so full. The food was very delicious and cooked just right. I especially loved the fried rice. It was our first time eating at Habachihana Grill and we loved the food and the experience. The staff was very nice and professional. We highly recommend it. They also offer savory sauces that really makes the meal extra flavorful. The garlic butter was our favorite. I will definitely come back to dine here.

It taste just like Benihana‘s! For half the price. But he chicken real good and the steak was cooked the same. I was a lil iffy about going there cuz I was Benihanas fan but when I tasted this I WAS LIKE OH WOW! They have the same garlic butter that melts into your food .. veggies are soft 🙂 very good food and we didn’t break our bank 60.00 for both of us !

Food was great, but not worth the sucky service. One of the cooks was texting on his phone by the cooler without bothering to chsnge gloves before handling food again, and the cashier was extremely rude to us ,but nice to the people behind. He set their table for them while just dropping a bag of to go food on our table even though we were seated and never said we wanted it to go. I understand the place has good reviews on uber, probably because they don’t see how they’re contaminating the food, as well as being rude. This place is a great example of why you shouldn’t be asked to tip before getting your food, because I tipped 30% to be treated like an annoyance.

It should be illegal to call this a lunch special and charge $30+. No drink included lol.

So here’s a brief synopsis for people who don’t want to read a paragraph:
– Service was good and food came out as expected (time & quality wise).
– It is a bit pricey, it’s habachi (quality meat & seafood isn’t cheap).
– It has fair portions for a restaurant and the meat is fresh.
I’m not going to lie, I was turned off to going to this place because when it first opened it didn’t have a very welcoming atmosphere. I was apprehensive about coming back due to some of the negative reviews online. Today I decided to give the place a fair shake since I didn’t have time to cook. I was pleasantly surprised, the food was good and they have since added to the decor so it’s more cozy.
I give it a 4 star because although the portion sizes are fairly satisfying it was more than I was expecting to spend but I was overall satisfied. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it!

We went here because it’s new and we wanted to try it. It was about 11:30 am and we ordered three sushi rolls, but were told they weren’t serving sushi or appetizers yet, just plates and bowls. We got the chicken fried rice bowl and the chicken teriyaki bowl with vegetables only, no rice. The food was ready pretty fast and we took it to go. I was told the chicken fried rice was good. I thought the chicken teriyaki was bland. The veggies were good and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn’t all cabbage.
